A WHITE Baton Rouge homeowner invited Black Lives Matter protesters to have a rally on her property — but that didn’t stop cops from arresting dozens of them.
...
The protesters had been peacefully protesting on her property for around 90 minutes, The Daily Beast reports, when officers in riot gear started moving in. At this point, protesters started yelling at the officers that they were trespassing on private property.
The police justified their aggressive behavior by claiming that protesters had been planning to march down to the highway and form a blockade. The police decided to preempt this action by blocking off the interstate ramps themselves, local news station WWLV reports.

Violating the right to peaceably assemble; violating private property rights; violating the freedom of the press; all in a day's work.

If this happened. The Police were WRONG! People have a right to assemble. and if the property owner had no issues with them on her property, then that is a great place to do it. they had the right, and appears that they have committed no crime. The police appear to be wrong.

Baton Rouge Cops Throw Protesters Into Street, Arrest Them for Being There (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/07/11/baton-rouge-cops-throw-protesters-into-street-arrest-them-for-being-there.html)
...
Throughout the confrontation, police threatened to arrest all journalists without credentials.
“We’re giving you an official direction,” one officer told The Daily Beast.
The Daily Beast and several other media outlets were forced into a 10-foot wide zone by police. Then they ordered all reporters without credentials out of the zone and threatened to arrest any who put a foot in the street. Arianna Triggs, a production assistant for NBC 33, told The Daily Beast she was also threatened with arrest and forced to move.
On Saturday, at least three journalists were arrested, including a radio reporter with WWNO and a credentialed news director with WAFB. Both were booked on one count of obstructing a highway, which was the same charge leveled against DeRay Mckesson, a prominent Black Lives Matter activist. More than 100 people in total were arrested.
Arresting and harassing journalists for doing their job is taking things to a new level.

Yes this is totally unacceptable. And some but kicking and name taking needs to happen. Not only the arresting officers but the person that gave the order and thought it was a good idea

It said clearly Journalists without credentials that is done routinely because so many people claim to be journalists for a front row. Im not defending what they did just explaining this point.
Ill take your word it was reported in several places, but I went to the most liberal and it wasnt there. Huffington post which posts anythihng anti police instantly, msnbc, USA today and Politico and NYdaily news, none of them had anything on it.
If they did what they say then they were wrong and the chief should be shown the door and any commander in charge on the ground.

A spokesperson for the police is claiming that the protesters broke the law earlier by obstructing an onramp or something similar but that raises the question of why they waited so long to actually arrest them. It says the protesters were at this person's property for around ninety minutes before the police started making arrests. It also raises the question of how they knew who was suspected of blocking the onramp and who wasn't, since the alleged crime occured at least ninety minutes prior and could have involved any number of individuals.

I question whether journalists should need "credentials" in order to exercise their right under the first amendment. Freedom of the press wasn't meant for a credentialed class of professionals, it was meant for all Americans.

I guess Minority Report (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minority_Report_(film)) was a fitting name for a movie considering the circumstances...

I’ve said for a long time the authorities will be cracking down on all this SJW stuff soon, but it’s met with denials of they’re not allowed to do that and the constitution says this and that. So if it did happen as the news story states, it doesn’t surprise me one little bit.

How long did you think marching down the street naked grabbing your crotch and waving pink flags, and the rioting and looting was going to be allowed to go on? Attempts to legalise incest in Germany, mass rapes in Sweden and Denmark has only recently banned animal brothels, but only because it attracted to many animal-sex tourists . . . When you voted for a liberal society, you voted permission to let every pervert and sicko do their own thing. This was always going to happen, the state needed an excuse to intervene and a liberal voting public gave it to them.

There wasn't any rioting or looting in this situation. The only allegation made by the police is that they obstructed traffic. But if that is the case, then why didn't they just arrest them when it actually happened? Why did they wait for them to congregate on private property for ninety minutes before they acted? And why were they harassing and arresting journalists who have every right to observe public servants acting in their official capacity?

I agree it was wrong, but what many previously said can’t, or won’t happen, is beginning.
I’m not cheering all this on, in fact the opposite, but I will keep repeating what I’ve said over the past couple of years and that’s the ones who cheered on Obama the most and called everyone else a Nazi and fascist will be the first to complain as the screw begins to tighten. The brighter liberals will eventually realise that themselves, as their pretend liberal (progressive) politicians turn on them.
I'm glad they were arrested. all they do is cause problems.

Yup , one by one, Orwells predictions come true.
Obviously the police that conducted this raid were the "thought police"
And just think, some posters here want us to be disarmed? Screw that!
