Top Intelligence Official Denies Paul Ryan's Request to Block Hillary Clinton From Classified Briefings

"Director of National Intelligence (http://abcnews.go.com/topics/news/us/james-r.-clapper.htm) James Clapper has rejected House Speaker Paul Ryan (http://abcnews.go.com/topics/news/us/rep.-paul-ryan.htm)'s request that Hillary Clinton (http://abcnews.go.com/topics/news/whitehouse/hillary-clinton.htm) be denied access to classified information and intelligence briefings (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/paul-ryan-formally-request-clinton-denied-classified-information/story?id=40399181) during the presidential election."
"I do not intend to withhold briefings from any officially nominated, eligible candidate," Clapper wrote to Ryan."
"Nominees for president and vice president receive these classified briefings by virtue of their status as candidates, and do not require separate security clearances before the briefings," Comey wrote. "Briefings for the candidates will be provided in an even-handed, non-partisan basis."

Imho, Thanks to Director Clapper for denying Ryan his unfair request that was fraught with partisanship and would not have been able to withstand scrutiny. Given that other candidates receive this important information to deny Hillary Clinton the same would have been a travesty of justice.
