Views on Experience vs. Outsider Status Pose a Potential Challenge for Trump (POLL)
By JULIE PHELAN and GREGORY HOLYK

"Americans prefer experience to outsider status in the next president and also give it a higher priority in an ABC News/Washington Post poll, a potential challenge for Donald Trump (http://abcnews.go.com/topics/news/donald-trump.htm) as he builds toward the general election campaign."

"The public by 55-41 percent prefers a president with “experience in how the political system works” over “someone from outside the existing political establishment.” Most Democrats want experience, while independents are split and most Republicans prefer an outsider."

"Among other issues, six in 10 prefer a president who supports a path to citizenship rather than one who opposes it, 57 percent want someone who supports rather than opposes stricter gun control laws and 52 percent prefer a president who supports legal abortion in most cases."

Thanks to ABC News for this report.

Imho, We are now seeing a clear path to a PRESIDENTIAL VICTORY for Hillary Clinton this year! All of those things that matter to Americans she is for as well as much more. And she will fight hard so that Americans can benefit from that which they have earned and rightfully deserve to have!

The only experience Clinton has is in screwing things up.

She stands a good chance of winning -- but it won't be a victory for the United States.

I don't think it will ultimately matter in this election. This is more about the status quo- the move towards globalism (Clinton) v. nationalism (Trump).

Yes, Hillary Clinton is very much an "insider" - she knows and understands how government works, how to craft a compromise, and how to work within the system to effect change and keep things running smoothly. Trump knows exactly zero about any of that; he's just a loud, pompous jerk with extensive experience on how to cheat people in the private sector while acting like the Ugly American personified.

People who think Trump would make a good President probably believe Kim Kardashian would be the perfect Miss America.

Can you imagine being the guy whose job it is to explain to President Trump, at least eight or ten times a day, that he isn't the Emperor, and that, no, the Statue of Liberty really wouldn't look good painted gold?

Trump has probably cut more deals and made more compromises than Clinton ever will.

Do you really think Clinton would make a good President. Everything she touches turns to shit. Do you believe she was an effective SecState? Did her foreign policy advance the interests of the United States?

Every position she has held since her husband left the White House has been because of HIM. She has accomplished nothing on her own merits and has only proven how incompetent and dishonest she is. How anyone could even consider her for the office of President is beyond my ken.

Why does experience matter when the experienced party is only experienced in screw ups and bad policy?
