Once again, Hillary Clinton seems dedicated to proving herself a liar. For all her talk of being a champion of progressives and no friend to Wall Street during the primary, her pick of Sen. Tim Kaine as her Vice Presidential nominee confirms what has long been suspected: Hillary Clinton doesn't champion progressivism, she champions Wall Streetism.

Sen. Kaine praised the anti-worker TPP trade deal (http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/tim-kaine-trade-tpp-226054) as recently as Thursday. He supported the Iraq War and the decision to oust Saddam. He supported pending free trade deals with Peru, Panama, Colombia, and South Korea (https://ustr.gov/archive/assets/Document_Library/Fact_Sheets/2008/asset_upload_file737_14684.pdf), He opposes alternative energy sources and wants to expand our unsustainable alliance with oil (http://www.kaine.senate.gov/tim-in-the-news/sens-warner-kaine-hope-to-end-offshore-drilling-ban) and coal. He repealed the estate tax. (http://www.richmond.com/news/article_ca823aca-ca42-5a0e-9c1a-dce4e89ea7d0.html?mode=print)

On these and many, many other issues, Kaine has sided with the wealthy and Wall Street, and Clinton has shown she sides with them as well by picking him for VP. A vote for Clinton is a vote for Wall Street.

There should be no estate tax; that's theft.

We should not put the oil and coal industry out of business, nor penalize it in any way. When alternative energy is ready, the market will make it succeed.

I do not like large swaths of TPP; enough to refuse to support it altogether.

Hillary is a liar, and her motivations to pick Kaine center solely around an electoral college strategy. I hope it backfires hard.

And I am sure he will be as effective at setting policy as Joe Biden was.

She's going for the center in my opinion. Every month she will go further to the center without trying to abandon her core base while Trump most likely won't adjust at all. She is banking on Americans seeing her as moderate and more tolerable and Trump as unmoving and dangerous. This VP pick is safe and won't scare off the people in the middle that thought Bernie was too far left and that people like Elizabeth Warren were too far left and divisive. It's a pick that's both predictable and safe, and also cowardly and conniving.

Yep, you are 100% correct.

Kaine's voting record is almost as left as you can get.

He doesn't talk much. Maybe she considers that center.

Both Kaine and Pence were flat picks that won't move the needle either way.
