"Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has weighed in on the U.S. presidential race,
saying he prefers President Barack Obama."

He already had Pravda's endorsement and I'm sure the Russian government is pulling for President "I'll be more flexible" Obama. The French might come out in support of President Obama. They helped Sen. Kerry as I recall.

I wonder if he'll get any endorsements from an ally of America? Doubtful.

There will be a menage' a trois 'tween Hugo, OhBama and Sean Penn coming out in the extras on the Special Edition MILK DVD. Should be awesome.

You have to say Feliz Holidays I think.

Mexicans aren't PC. They are generally very polite but not so tiresome and sensitive. For example, I've heard a number of people from the U.S. get snippy and say, "You know, people in Mexico are "Americans", too," but I've never heard a Mexican say that.

I was in Mexico 3 times.

First time I was immediately solicited by a prostitute. And she wasn't very comely.

I thought she was asking me for directions at first.

But, did she say she was voting for Obama? I would expect Mexican hookers, especially the transvestites, to endorse President Obama for a second term.

I don't know. I ran like hell and didn't look back.

Actually Cary, I'm curious. Aside from President Obama, have you ever experienced people getting excited over American Presidential candidates overseas? I was in Japan for a week in 2009 and it was obvious that there was still some excitement over him there, but I'm not sure they would've cared much before he was elected?

That's a hard one to evaluate .
My general feeling is that there is only a vey small percentage in each of the Western countries that could be termed a political segment --- 1% as a total guess . Of these a proportion are not the brightest /literate and perhaps 80% are essentially ignorant of anything happening elsewhere-- in another far away country --- unless there is a war or a natural disaster or huge accident .
Regrettably at least 99% of the electorate are brain empty and only respond to calamity and/or as a result of how mainstream media push them .
Obama was exceptional because of his colour and assumed implications , and the fact that in contrast figures like Bush and then McCain were such old fashioned and out of touch people
I would be amazed if even one in one hundred people here have heard of Mutant , let alone which party he is with .And I strongly suspect that the same type of finding holds across the EU . And by the same token I would not expect 1% of Americans to know the name of the UK opposition party , let alone a single senior figure .
This might change a little if there is a huge howler made by either side during the debates .
Bit of a ramble . But I guess you know the overall picture I am trying to pain=t .

Your post, Grunt, makes no more sense than usual but I've lived in Mexico for 15 years. Would that give me an "international position" whatever that is? Of course, I'm sure it wouldn't. But, have you ever noticed that most countries don't get involved directly in American presidential politics? Sure the Chinese, the Russians, the French, the Venezuelans, and the Palestinians do but they're not allies or friends of the U.S. or America. They would like to see American cease to exist, as would you, so they will support anyone who supports their position.

The problem is, Grunt, that President Obama's allies, such as yourself, hate America. They realize a victory for President Obama is a defeat for America.

President Hugo Chavez says that if he was a U.S. citizen he would vote for Obama. Not a problem really. The Democrats not only welcome but facilitate foreign nationals voting. President Obama made his position clear when he tried to force Honduras to accept an illegal Chavez surrogate as president.

Yeah, it is strange that no leaders of socialist countries support a conservative. But hey, obama has the support of all those wonderful leaders like Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Putin. You know, those pillars of reason and humanity.
Not much of a surprise that you support them either. Most moronic liberals do.

All international leaders love Obama and ignore Mutant .
But the seer is wrong and Mutant is just misunderstood and rather feeble .
Are you a paid up member of the Victim's Party ?

I think you did jolly well to write three sentences .
Rather simplistic and just silly cherry picking .
But progress .
