What is wrong with the picture.

Other than Clearly (according to Democrats) Obama wants to sleep with his daughter :)

I have said several times that I believe that the Obama's are very good parents and they should be role models for what a family should be in the Black community

However; He has been a terrible President with his foreign and domestic policies, have been a complete and total failure, that has made it harder for families and a more dangerous world.

That does not make him a bad father too.

If the founding fathers were such geniuses then explain slavery...

Well, first of all, not all the founding fathers owned slaves. So there's that.

Secondly, many who owned slaves emancipated their slaves, spoke out against slavery, enacted policies that made the institution more humane, and generally promoted abolitionist ideology.

Thirdly, slavery predated the founding fathers for thousands and thousands of years. Many people act like the founding fathers invented slavery. How about a little historical perspective?

I could go on at length about the nuanced relationship between the founders and slavery. It's a complex legacy.

...and the articles of confederation.

The articles of confederation were not perfect, but neither is the US Constitution. The assumption (and that's all it really is) that the articles of confederation were some horrible disaster is a total exaggeration, a point raised by many prominent anti-federalists like Patrick Henry at the time of the debates.

The articles made it impossible to pay off our revolutionary war debts, issue currency, defend ourselves, have uniform laws, and set up courts. And of course, there was no president or even separation of powers.

Other than that? Yeah, the articles rocked.

There were 2 types of founders:

1. Slave owners,
2. Slave owner enablers.

The geniuses were the folks who wrote the northwest ordinance--Nathan Dane and Rufus King.

The articles made it impossible to pay off our revolutionary war debts...

Simply not true. There were some defaults on payments to France, but other loans were being repaid, especially to the Dutch who extended new lines of credit to the US in 1787 and 1788.

...issue currency...

America had already had a robust market of private currencies. And it would stay that way until 1913 when the federal government effectively monopolized money in America.

...defend ourselves...

Yet somehow we managed to defeat the British empire.

...have uniform laws...

Uniformity is the death of diversity. In some instances, uniformity can be a very good thing. Turning America into a big free trade zone, for example. But uniformity purely for its own sake is dangerous and utopian. It needs to have a firm basis in reason and democratic consensus before it can be rationalized.

...and set up courts.

There were state and local courts and private arbitration and mediation.

Other than that? Yeah, the articles rocked.

Many of the things you cite as weaknesses were actually strengths, and the things that really were weaknesses are largely exaggerated.

The Constitution is the document upon which our system and laws are based. I appreciate it for that and also the notion that it is a living document that was adjusted over the centuries to be more fair and more timely.

The founders were sharp enough to build that feature into the document--but they also wrote the articles of confederation which proves beyond all doubt that they weren't geniuses.
