Shifting party alliances from '08 to '12.

Keep in mind that like most aggregates a lot of information is lost down at the county or even voting district level.

There is also a correlation with red states in that they are backward economically, anti-science, anti-union, anti equal rights for LGBT, pro-gun hugger, and republican run. I wonder if the war on education by the right, started after civil rights and busing, isn't now demonstrating its accomplishments, one of which is Donald Trump?

'Donald Trump's Campaign of Feeling'

"But his campaign is also one that solicits and relies on a more general politics of sentimentality: his audience’s feeling that feelings are powerful. That is, his campaign fuels the (self-help-ish) idea that feeling good about something makes it good – that feeling like America is great will make America great."

Complete malarkey. Texas is red. We're doing great economically. San Antonio is a center for medical research, Austin for technology. People are moving here from blue states that are not doing so well.

I was reading a piece on whether democrats are really pro-science. Apparently there's a plank in their platform about climate and another about energy and that's about it. Read it here: http://reason.com/blog/2016/07/26/democratic-platform-2016-science-plankx

Texas is among the states that takes in more federal money than it pays in to the Federal budget.

Demonstrate that Texas can refuse government contracts for defense spending - which goes into that equation.

Likewise: demonstrate that Texas has any ability at all to stop poor Texas citizens from getting Federal subsidy.

Texas has paid more than it has received for decades. It wasn't until under Obama that that changed - and it changed largely as a result of increased defense spending and entitlements which are federally mandated to go to poor citizens regardless of State.

Your claim is misleading, because you're both dishonest, a partisan hack, and uninformed. You'd be entirely empty, if you weren't full of crap.

Sure. The incentives are there, why not take advantage. You know, like all the single mothers. I don't blame them. I blame our overblown federal government handing out all these political favors.
