It thankfully wasn't as hot as they said it was going to be, still in the 90's though, but a great hike nonetheless. Mount Jefferson is probably one of my favorite areas to hike and camp.

Well you don't have to hike a volcano to still do that sort of stuff and enjoy nature. I'm sure there are some great and easy loops near you somewhere.

Why do you think I am here trying to save America?

Read the Constitution. Understand it. Then try to help America. Now you are hell bent on destroying it.

Well we didn't really take a ton of pictures since we've hiked that area a number of times, and since my dad was taking them most of the other pictures that I didn't post are of me and not really the landscape.

Thanks, I'd take that, the director of the EPA, or the director of the national park service

The EPA should be disbanded. It is an out of control agency with far too much power.

The EPA should be disbanded. It is an out of control agency with far too much power.

It is controlled largely by Monsanto. Link with one reference (http://ivn.us/2013/03/05/the-revolving-door-waste-management-monsanto-and-the-epa/).

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), its mission (http://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/whatwedo.html) is to ensure “federal laws protecting human health and the environment are enforced fairly and effectively”. The agency is responsible (http://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/) for regulating many of the nation’s largest companies, from large agricultural firms to waste disposal entities.

Most high-level EPA employees have backgrounds in politics or academia, and almost all have law degrees. Several, however, come from the same companies the EPA is supposed to regulate.

The two largest private sector sources for these EPA positions are Monsanto and Waste Management Inc. Since the creation of the EPA in 1970, at leasttwelve (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=EPA%27s_Revolving_Door) high-level employees of the agency also have one of these two companies on their resume.

They run the EPA through a revolving door of corporate board room to leadership political positions inside the EPA.

I'm not totally sure since we didnt keep track but I know we were atleast five miles in and the elevation goes up atleast 1,000 feet along the trail up until we get to the alpine lakes and ponds.

If you are going to lie on rocks do it while you're young . It looks painful to me. LOL. It does look like a nice hike. Is the trail all hard scrabble rock or is some of it just dirt forest floor?
