The Upshot’s elections model suggests that the Democrats are slight favorites to win the Senate, based on the latest state and national polls (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/us/elections/senate-polls.html).

Pollster: quickly rising into the Meteorologist echelon of careers chosen by people who fail more than 50% of the time.

Once again, our resident Communist thinks permanent one party Democrat rule is a good thing. Wonder how well it works in every urban cr@phole in the US?

The White House, the Senate... shame it won't be a hat trick. Thanks, Trump.

I think that the poll is spot on.

I think that it will be 50/50 or 51/49 and will likely revert back to GOP control in 2018

It will be interesting to see how much fight there is in the house. Hillary is unpopular and it should be an easy opposition.

I am amused by those who think the election is already over before a single vote is cast.

Did anyone here every talk to, or remember, a guy named JLB? He used to frequent a forum I regular at, and I know he posted elsewhere on a very regular basis. At least he did all the way until the Presidential Elections in 2012. He predicted an astounding victory for Romney, said that the race-baiters and liberals were going to be cast out, etc.

I haven't seen or heard from him since.

I wonder how many here are going to do that when Trump manages to lose to the worst candidate in modern history, by a landslide?

Midterm elections are a reality check for almost any President. 2018 will be no different.

I don't really see either party having a lock on the public trust (both have equally screwed the public trust "pooch"). If anything, I'd hope people from both parties seek to unseat incumbents across the board. The stagnation in congress is on a trajectory to be a terminal condition unless its corrected soon.

Probably half as many as the number of leftists who will do that exact same thing.

Which makes me wonder why it's fruitful to offer posts such as yours.

Trump won't lose worse than Mondale- the Loser.

I am skeptical about Trump hurting senate candidates. No thinking person believes that Trump represents the GOP leadership.

I think the "Media" is just working overtime as typists for the DNC.

I don't see how Trump could lose to the worst candidate in modern history. That would require he lose to himself.

Nah, he is better than Clinton. I'll tell you why: Clinton started this campaign with the backing of the entire Democrat establishment. She spent the whole nomination process getting kicked around by an old socialist Jew who sounded funny, who ended up taking over 40% of the vote, starting with essentially 0% of the vote. Now she is going up against a monumental buffoon, one of the least qualified people to ever run for President, and she has spent most of the time polling roughly the same as him. Regardless of your views on Trump, I think it is safe to say that Hillary Clinton is the worst Presidential candidate in modern history. The only reason she will win is because Trump is such an idiot. If the RNC had put up literally any moderate with a clean record, she'd be facing an epic defeat.
