View Full Version : "Debate" Unfair to Obama

"University of Wisconsin students and fellow Wisconsinites had mixed reviews on the president's performance. I talked to supporters of the president who had watched the debate, asking how they thought the president did. One after the other said they were left unimpressed and “not inspired,” seemingly depressed and lethargic in their continuing support of the president. More than half the people I asked, who thought the president could have done better, said “it wasn’t fair” that President Obama was not allowed to use his teleprompter in the debate. And while a handful of supporters did say teleprompters had no place in the debate, one thought it was not only unfair to President Obama but both candidates."
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/10/05/UW-Madison-Students-Left-Uninspired-Say-Unfair-President-Couldn-t-Use-Teleprompter-in-Debate

When I lived in the U.S. a survey of students at our local university revealed that over 70% did not consider copying someone else's paper cheating. It appears things haven't changed. I suppose the students were nodding to a liberal sense of fairness when they said each of the candidates should have had a teleprompter. Most recognized that one could function with a teleprompter.

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2012/10/05/Breitbart-Debate-Teleprompter-Video-Featured-On-Greta

I will say, President Obama has been much snappier since the debate now that he's back with his beloved teleprompter. Sadly, I got my absentee ballot and "Teleprompter" was not one of the choices under President.

If Obama is re-elected then it is the end of the US. We will have run our course and ended in a most ignominious way. An embarrassment, an insult to the men that wrote our founding documents. If he's re-elected then this country does not deserve freedom or a constitution or rights of anykind.

Your insane if you really think that

After your first post on this thread and your inability to remember Gov. Romney by name you dare to think someone is insane? Your response was off topic, a canned response from talking points, an attempt at distraction, and you think everyone else is crazy.

So, do you think it was unfair that President Obama--see, I know his name--was forced to speak in public without his teleprompter? I realize it's hard to keep your lies straight without notes.

President Barack Obama’s claim that he signed into law the biggest middle-class tax cut in history “is ridiculous,” The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/obamas-whopper-of-a-claim-on-tax-cuts/2011/09/06/gIQAmL2h7J_blog.html)concluded in a fact check of the claim.

The president might have been more accurate during his Labor Day speech in Detroit if he had claimed the signed the “broadest” tax cut, but he didn’t, the Post reported.

Although the clear meaning of the president’s remarks refers to the biggest tax cuts in terms of dollars, the White House asserted otherwise. The point the president was making “is there is not a tax cut that has been enjoyed by such a broad section of the population,” an administration official told the Post in reference to a report that said that 95 percent of working families received some kind of tax cut under the Making Work Pay provision of Obama’s stimulus bill.

“In other words, this isn’t about the size of the tax cut, but about the fact that every working family, except those making more than $190,000, received as much as $800 in tax cuts,” the Post wrote. “That strikes us as very odd way to claim ‘the biggest,’ but maybe that’s because Obama can’t make that claim.”

The award for the biggest tax cut in the last half century goes to John F. Kennedy, the Post said, noting that “the income tax provisions of George W. Bush tax cuts are more than twice as large as Obama’s tax cut over the same three-year time span.”

The president — whose campaign slogan ironically is “Forward” — is stuck in the past, looking backward as he rails against boogeyman Bush at every campaign stop. He thinks his ticket back to the White House (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/white-house/) is to campaign against the history books as he tells audiences that “the last thing we can do is go back to the same failed policies that got us into this mess in the first place.”

The president has positioned himself as a "warrior for the middle class," fighting against a ruling class of one-percenters. But a new book says Obama is really at war with middle America. In fact, Obama hates the American middle class and all it represents, according to "Spreading the Wealth" by Stanley Kurtz. The president is secretly scheming to destroy it where it lives: the suburbs.

Gotta think Biden is one of the biggest hypocrites in politics.

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was far more generous to charities than President Barack Obama or Vice President Joe Biden last year, both in dollar terms and as a percentage of income, tax return data Romney’s campaign released Friday indicate.

Romney and his wife, Ann, gave 29.4 percent of their income to charity in 2011, donating $4,020,772 out of the $13,696,951 they took in.

Obama and first lady Michelle Obama gave 21.8 percent of their income to charitable organizations last year, donating $172,130 out of the $789,674 they made.

Biden and his wife, Jill, gave 1.5 percent of their income away in 2011, with charitable donations totaling $5,540 out of $379,035.

Republicans have mocked Obama and especially Biden for being unusually tight-fisted when it comes to making charitable gifts.

When the Obama campaign released past tax returns for Biden in 2008, it was revealed that the Bidens donated just $3,690 to charity over 10 years — an average of $369 a year.

I love Joe Biden too, love to laugh at the ignorant, stupid, and incompetent morons of the world fail at everything. It's like when my cat runs into the sliding glass door when she sees her reflection, you go "awww" because it's a dumb thing to do but she doesn't know better.
I got a question for you, buddy, do you know why Odumba chose someone so moronic to be his VP? Because he's Odumba's life-insurance policy. No one would ever want to do anything harmful to Odumba with Biden next in line. That'd doom this nation for sure, way faster than Odumba could do it.

The economy is likely to collapse with either Obama or Romney. Neither are willing to take the bold steps needed to delevarage our debt.

Mainecoons

Correct. The U.S. Federal government is out of control. The deficit is so large now that if the entire discretionary side of the budget were zeroed out, the entitlements side would still be in the red. If the Bush tax cuts were fully repealed, they would raise less than 30 percent of the deficit assuming (contrary to prior experience) that such a huge tax increase would not depress economic activity, and hence tax collections, further.

Only rescinding the "tax cuts for the rich" would raise less than 10 percent of the deficit.

Peter is correct. Neither of these candidates or their parties are willing to tell the people the truth and make the big cuts in government and entitlements, combined with tax increases, necessary to stem the bleeding. Greece, with similar deficit pictures, is in the final stages of collapse now. Spain, also with similar figures, is rapidly headed that way. France's experiment with "hate the rich" socialism is already coming unglued.

The bottom line folks is that we have more government than we can afford or need at all levels. It is ironic that unemployment among government workers is a little over 4 percent while the real unemployment among the rest of the country is 14.7 percent or higher. Government has become a cancerous parasite and like all of its ilk will eventually kill the patient and hence itself.
