Agreed. But both the left and the right have existed for decades with deadly internal contradictions. This shift places both sets of policies in danger. And Trump may be the Man on the White Horse who is pulling the trigger on those contradictions.

We will probably get a really epic war out of this, but it will be a "good war."

Which is why I have some hope/fear that if/when Trump takes office he will surprise a whole bunch of people. Trump is a supreme egoist, and he will want to be remembered as a great man. Great men accomplish great things, but often at great cost.
