Interesting. Is Trump beholden to Russian government figures?

Donald Trump (http://abcnews.go.com/topics/news/donald-trump.htm) and his children have for years promoted themselves and their real estate opportunities in Russia and other former Soviet states, and ethics experts say if he is elected President the get-tough U.S. sanctions against Russia could be in direct conflict with his business interests.

Lots of American businessmen did business in Russia after the end of the Cold War. We had some good threads on this in the past.

He didn't sell a bunch of uranium to Russia.

That's gotta sting for traditional[1] liberals. Except I would characterize them more in the crony capitalist niche. Compare and contrast that sale to the reputed loans from major New York and London banks to none other than Lenin and Trotsky.

The first rule of empire is that an empire has to have external opposition. There is otherwise no way to use fear of the "other" as yet another hold on the diverse groups of people you own rule. And it gives you the excuse to build a powerful and permanent military/industrial complex, including the slow militarizing of your "prole police" with castoffs from your powerful military.

This actually does not require an actual conspiracy. It's easily explainable by the natural proclivity of people with like interests to congregate and make deals.

[1] as opposed to classical liberals. Traditional libs in the sense of (maybe?) oh just before FDR until the split in the 60s. (Though they were not traditional liberals, the various social conservatives and the neocons affected Democratic and therefore liberal politics and behavior.

This seems like a very labored attempt to trash Trump and isn't really successful considering Clinton has taken a crapload of money from much more dubious sources.

The Aristocracy of Pull is an equal-opportunity briber.

"Aristocracy of Pull" would be a really excellent name for a band.
