But the nation experienced a sustained period of modest manufacturing growth deep into the 1990s, most of it under the watch of President Bill Clinton. He presided during the longest continuous economic expansion (http://www.factcheck.org/2007/12/clinton-and-economic-growth-in-the-90s/) in U.S. history.

In fact, the nation’s manufacturing boat rose with that tide, for a time at least, ticking up in the middle part of that decade and peaking in 1997, federal employment statistics show.

None of this was news to the White House, whom we contacted after checking the president’s remarks against his speech text (http://www.fox11online.com/dpp/news/wisconsin/president-obamas-speech-at-master-lock). They forwarded a blueprint by the White House’s economic advisers (http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/investing_in_america_report_final.pdf) that says the growth is the best since "the late 1990s."

The reference was correct in the Milwaukee the speech text, too (the italics are ours):

"For the first time since the 1990s, American manufacturers are creating new jobs, which is good for companies up and down the supply chain. You’ve all heard enough about outsourcing. Well, more and more companies like Master Lock are now insourcing."

Now, it turns out that some preventive medicine does actually save money. For example, the cost of vaccinating an entire population against some diseases is actually less than it wouldve cost to treat those diseases if they developed in some of the people.
But most types of prevention dont literally save money. The reason for this is that you have to screen a lot of women with mammography, for example, in order to find one breast cancer. So, if it doesnt save money, how do we decide what prevention is worth doing? Thats where value comes in.
As Dr. Steven Wolf and others argued in a recent paper on this subject, the question of whether prevention saves money and thus can help pay for health care reform misses the point. What does matter, and this matters both for prevention and treatment services, is value - the health benefit per dollar invested.

the 3rd one is also a small speaking error

The Congressional Budget Office estimates (http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/120xx/doc12033/12-23-SelectedHealthcarePublications.pdf)that next year only about 1 million more Americans will gain health insurance. The figure balloons to 19 million in 2014, and 30 million in 2016 when those concrete changes are fully implemented.

Parts of the law already up and running -- which have chipped away at the number of uninsured Americans -- include policies for people with pre-existing conditions and an allowance for young adults to remain on their parents’ health plans up to age 26

One caveat: we're constantly in the process of updating our list of promises, so the numbers change frequently. Given the sheer number of promises Obama made, we haven’t managed to update some in a year or more. The bottom line is that any estimates from our work as it stands today should be made with a grain of salt.

All told, then, the data show an increase in exports of about one-third from the baseline Obama inherited -- not double.

This isn’t the first time Obama has spoken of doubling exports. In his 2011 State of the Union address (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2011/01/25/remarks-president-state-union-address), he said, "To help businesses sell more products abroad, we set a goal of doubling our exports by 2014 -– because the more we export, the more jobs we create here at home. Already, our exports are up."

again a small speaking error.

the plan was to double them by 2014

at the time he said this we were well on our way.

Don't worry. I think that most people are starting to ignore her....just like ignoring a gnat. I already have her on ignore and it makes reading in this forum so much more productive when I don't have to scroll through her nonsensical posts.

The sites you list are all left wing...you are good at copying though, unlike when you write for yourself. Try to dispute all you want...your boy is going down in flames.

One could easily say that truthmatters was playing dumb when she started out here but rather rapidly altered her tactics. It almost appears she is a paid shill but I'm not totally convinced...yet.

1150 posts...definitely no life. Actually that makes me kind of sad, not pity but sad.
