yes, now that we've been exposed to both neo-cons and neo-libs in positions of great power in the federal government over the last eight years, it's clear there are some similarities.
both pander to multinational corps, blur the lines of nations (in fact corporations are the new countries), and ultimately wish for an expanded central government with unlimited powers. they are driven only by greed, power and money -- the ideology they each claim is just a means to end.

The cool thing about Wikipedia is that it allows a definition and an article about almost anything to be published, including doctrines about what people mean when they say "liberal elite." It still only describes a perception, and in great detail.
Jimmy Wales founded Wikipedia. He describes himself as libertarian.
