It now appears that President Obama is not quite so widely liked as had been recently advertised.

Forty-nine percent of likely voters now approve of President Obama's performance in office, whereas 50 percent disapprove, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll.

Perhaps even more telling, only 29 percent strongly approve, whereas 39 percent strongly disapprove: Daily Presidential Tracking Poll - Rasmussen Reports (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll)

maineman would say that not many people disapprove of his performance as POTUS. He would say that your information is not "empirical evidence".

Actually, I would say that I make it a habit to NOT simply cherry-pick polls that affirm my opinion. I rely pretty consistently on RealClearPolitics for my polling information.... either that, or fivethirtyeight.

I prefer to use RealClearPolitics rather than looking for a poll that supports my position. Clearly, you don't.

Lol...... Maineman only respects the views of people who agree with him. He's an elitist at heart.

I respect the right of everyone to have views different than mine. If you, like birddog here, for example, still believe that Obama was born in Kenya, I can respect your right to HAVE that view... I certainly am not compelled to respect the view itself.

Like I said... I, unlike you, don't cherry pick polls and only report on the ones that affirm my thinking. I use RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight exclusively simply because they DON'T try to cram one poll or one perspective down my throat.

After he claims to not cherry pick things after he cherry picked stuff from his favorite poll.

Then he goes into his usual denial mode.

I have not quoted a single poll. I quoted RCP and 538, both of which average many polls.

didn't you know that?

Here:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

do yourself a favor and actually open that link. You will see that the RCP's AVERAGE is a +5.3 approval rating for Obama, but you will also see that that average is derived by averaging EIGHT polls.

Again... I do not cherrypick.

you do.

do try to keep up from now on, please.

Obvious.y a lot of people agree with my point of view and that's demonstrated by the evidence presented by maineman himself, but he wants to dismiss that.

Again, him and people like him only respect the views of others when they are in complete agreement.

After the 2010 midterm elections, Silver concluded that Rasmussen's polls were the least accurate of the major pollsters in 2010, having an average error of 5.8 points and a pro-Republican bias of 3.9 points according to Silver's model.Rasmussen Reports - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasmussen_Reports)

Gosh, if you add that 5.8% bias to 49% you get the 55% that all of the reputable polls are reporting. Good times!

I am curious... did you ever find that one poll that I cherry picked from that you accused me of doing? Or are you going to put on your big boy pants and apologize for lying?

he flat out lies about things he claims other posters have said all the fucking time and he never has the maturity, dignity, character, or grace to simply apologize for it. He truly is a pathetic little loser of a man.

As usual, the left prefers to attack the messenger.

Oh, by the way: 5.8 percent of 49 percent is just 2.8 percent (or, more precisely, 2.842 percent); and 2.8 percent plus 49 percent does not equal 55 percent.

You are clearly confusing percent with percentage points.

In any case--unlike you--I do not consider Rasmussen to be unreliable (or at all biased)...
