Philip is opting to stay in #Charleston and bubble wrap his door.

This is his first #hurricane but his neighbor told him he'll be fine.

WTF does bubble wrap do?

And with painter's tape??

Can someone please keep an eye on this Guy and his obvious Special Needs?

LOL

I think bubble wrap is for wrapping wall paintings and things that might break that you're leaving behind.

But the doorway? Too funny.

And what's on the other side of his chair? Potting soil?

The bubble wrap is probably all he has. It would serve the same purpose as plastic.

The potting soil could replace sand bags.

If you look at the placement of the taped bubble-wrap he's using it to seal the space between the bottom and sides of the door in the door frame against rising water up to about 24". I agree that the bags of soil, if it is soil, will be used as makeshift sand bags at the bottom of the doorway.

The bubble wrap is probably all he has. It would serve the same purpose as plastic.Wrong. Bubble wrap contains air, when it come into water it floats thus pulling up the painters tape which won't hold it anyhow. If the potting soil is to replace sand he is an idiot, do you know how potting soil drains water off? Let's face it, he is a dumb ass.

Why do people want to ridicule someone for trying to protect their home?

I get the feeling that some people are upset when people try to take care of themselves instead of following the directives from government.

I also get the feeling that many people are disappointed that this hurricane is much less severe and destructive as predicted.

They would blindly abide by government directives, allow their home to be severely damaged even if they could have prevented it, then cry for government assistance.

It's nice for the most part but inland there are bodies of water ever mile or so that stink, really stink. Smells like a sewer overflow on an rv. People are friendly however, even in the rv park I'm in. Didn't expect that.
