Right. I was going to have surgery a few years back, till I found out that they wanted the guy who dunks the frozen fries into the hot grease at Micky D's to do it, and then I opposed the idea...just because of that.

Offhand, I'd say that both of the major Parties, in particular the Republican, gave it their best try this time around. The GOP, in particular, would appear to be hurtling toward irrelevance at the speed of sound.

For millions, Trump is the perceived short-cut to making all the dissenting opinions and annoying people who don't agree with them, the complex issues and the necessity for compromise go away. They don't understand that the dynamic balance between Conservatism and Liberalism is what has kept this nation strong for more than two centuries; they envision winning every game, like a sports team going undefeated for an entire season. Trump plays that faulty, dangerous vision for all it is worth.

That may be true it may be the best, we may have it the best, and be the most privileged. But at what cost though? We only have that privilege through the suppression of the rest of the world and using up their lives, like coal or firewood. If we really knew what it took to make it the best here, we would see that it was not really the best, that everything we have and owned was covered in blood and made off the bones of men and human suffering, and the death of the innocent. How right you are though. But how wrong we all are.

The notion that our proxy politicians are talented and noteworthy in any way, shape, or form, is laughable, as is the notion that they're doing our country any good. To compare Hillary Clinton, or most politicians, for that matter, to an actual specialist like a surgeon is absurd and laughable.

I don't disagree with some of your points. We certainly have our shortcomings as a nation but we are still that shining beacon IMO. All we can do is try and admit our shortcomings and improve upon them while maintaining our standing as the leader of the world.
