The Root Cause = Change

People inherently fear and distrust change and uncomfortable with it.

I remember my Grandfather had a pet-peeve about push button phones. But I also remember my father saying, either learn to deal with it or you'll never be able to make phone calls.

I don't tolerate the analysis of an idiot. You are ignorant of history if you think that what is being rebelled against is the notion of 'change'. You're not 'changing' anything. You're entertaining a historical reversion. Humankind has been already where imbeciles like you want to take us. This is not a new effort. These are the same actors who believe the same things looking to suppress once again liberty and prosperity so that they can control you. The only thing that is new this time in the means and methods employed.

Part of that was making you feel alienated from the society who which you're supposed to have loyalty - including our Constitution. They've not 'educated' you; they've indoctrinated you.

People fear change because you can't really control direction and consequences. Things change. Politicians try to control and manage it.

What I fear in this election is there will be no change at all. The government will grow along with regulation and taxation and nothing will improve.

Where did I assign blame to you? We are all free to make our own mistakes.

Your response to my chagrin at being levied over 50% typifies exactly why I'm not vested in this country's political future. Your response can be summarized as, "Fuck you, win the election." Madison notes how important it is to create a government that obliges itself to control itself. If your government, with 50%+1 support can make any confiscatory claim to my income, I don't care what the result of the election is, I'm not with you anymore. When you make taxes the largest expense many Americans face, expect resentment, expect anything less and you're deluding yourself.

The "Conservative" label has been perverted to serve selfish and dishonest goals.

That's utter nonsense. The goals are getting Government out of our pockets and our lives. You consider that 'selfish and dishonest' and it's what the majority of Americans have historically desired, and what our Constitution historically protected. You're babbling generalistic nonsense, which is why you gave no examples whatsoever?

Why? Because you know I'll slam your dick in the door in rebuttal.

The republican party of today is a completely different that I first registered in when I could first vote. I watched it drift away and I re-registered after Reagan.

The Republican Party is 'completely different' because it has become Establishment. You just - effortlessly, and without thought - shifted gears in an intentional attempt to conflate what a Conservative is with what a Republican is.

I have never been a Republican. I have voted Republican most of my life because the particular candidate was the most ideologically aligned with me.

Why don't you go ahead and tell the group what about Conservatives and Conservatism has changed for you?
