Al Qaeda senior leader killed in U.S. drone strike as terror group warns of launching 9/11-esque attacks on election day
Saturday 5th November, 2016 | Washington, US - Ahead of warnings issued by Federal authorities to several U.S. states, to remain on guard ahead of the Election day on November 8 after reportedly receiving a threat from Al Qaeda militants - now, the Pentagon has announced that a senior Al Qaeda militant was silenced.

Calling it a ‘precision strike’, the Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said that the drone attack in north eastern Afghanistan had managed to kill al-Qaeda's emir for eastern Afghanistan - Faruq al-Qahtani. The Saudi-born, Qatari national was one of the top militant leaders who had been on America’s list of most wanted terrorists since February. The strike, undertaken on October 23 in Afghanistan’s Kunar province had also managed to bring down 15 other insurgents, the Afghan government spokesman Abdul Ghani Mosamem added in a statement. While not revealing the exact details of those killed, Mosamem said that two Arabs and several other Pakistani Taliban fighters were brought down. al-Qahtani is said to have plotted against the U.S. on many occasions, as a senior member, leading the plans and was also accused of being involved in plots targeting Europe. Cook further added that a different strike was launched to kill another senior al-Qaeda leader, Bilal al-Utabi but the result of the strike hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Talking about the strike that managed to silence Qahtani forever, Cook said, “This successful strike is another example of U.S. operations to degrade international terrorist networks and target terrorist leaders who seek to attack the U.S. homeland, our interests and our allies abroad.” The U.S. has been at war with Al Qaeda ever since the 9/11 attack tore through the heart of the country, claiming several lives in 2001. In 2011, the infamous leader of Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden was killed. Merely two months back, on the 15th anniversary of the horrific attack, Al Qaeda had issued a chilling warning, stating that they would launch another 9/11 esque attack on American soil. The threat was taken very seriously by U.S. authorities, who have not only intensified security across the country but have simultaneously also increased attacks against Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Now, intelligence reports have further fuelled fears of a possible attack by the terror group during the 2016 presidential elections on November 8.

According to reports, local authorities, backed by Federal officials and an intelligence tip off have put New York City, Texas and Virginia under high alert. Local law enforcement officials have however been warned that even though the threat is of a relatively low level, security needs to be tight and uncompromising. Spokesman Steve Coleman was quoted as saying that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates airports, tunnels and bridges around New York City, continues high levels of patrol it has had in place. The New York City Police Department said in a statement, “We are aware of the information and are working with intelligence agencies and the Joint Terrorism Task Force.” U.S. intelligence agencies have said often that al Qaeda and its affiliates are still the top counter terrorism priority for the agency.

Meanwhile, in an official statement, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that his office was monitoring the situation. Abbott even urged Texans to remain vigilant. On the other hand, Brian Coy, a spokesman for the Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, said, "We are doing everything we can to keep Virginians safe, and we're confident they are going to be able to vote safely on Election Day." An official said on conditions of anonymity that authorities were currently engaged in assessing whether there was an actual plot, fearing that the states named might not be the real targets and it could just be misdirection. The official added, “Another possibility is that this is just an attempt to inspire someone here to mount an attack.” Both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security are said to be concerned of so-called "homegrown" militants who could be inspired to attack within the country.

ISIS wants to smash ballot boxes, slaughter American voters on crucial Presidential Election day
Monday 7th November, 2016 | WASHINGTON, U.S. - Even as the Presidential battleground heats up and supporters of both the candidates engage in virtual battles - there’s more than one external threat lurking around for American voters.

After suffering consistent defeat in both Syria and Iraq - the terror group's global stronghold, the Islamic State Militant Group (ISIS) is resorting to other measures to intimidate its enemies. In its latest threat, the terror group declared in an essay published by its Al Hayat media center that it plans to smash ballot boxes on the day of the crucial presidential elections. The publication of the essay was authenticated by the director of the leading counterterrorism organisation, SITE Intelligence Group, Ritz Katz on Twitter. ISIS further warned that it will “slaughter” American voters on the day of election - strictly warning Muslim voters to abstain from the democratic process of voting in America. The seven-page long essay, titled “The Murtadd (apostate) Vote” said that the terrorist organisation has “come to slaughter you and smash your ballot boxes.”

It further argued that Muslims who voted for George W Bush in the year 2000 played an indirect role in the crimes committed by Bush against the Muslim population. The essay went on to criticise Obama and said, “In addition to committing the apostasy of democratic voting, they share in the crimes committed by Bush against Islam and the Muslims throughout his eight years of rule. The murtadd voters, however, did not learn, as by 2008, Obama got up to 90 percent of their vote and after almost thirty years of history proving to the entire world that there is no difference between the American Republican and Democratic parties in their policies against Islam and Muslims, the murtadd imams of the so-called 'Muslim Brotherhood' and its sister sects continue to advocate voting in the pagan festivals of U.S. democracy, this time campaigning for the Democratic Party and its presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.”

Adding, “George W. Bush, John McCain, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Joe Lieberman, Joe Biden, John Kerry, and so forth are all supporters of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). So how can the murtadd imams of the West claim there is any real difference for Muslims between the various U.S. presidential nominees and candidates?” The essay further read, “Hence, as it is clear that the voter is... directly involved in the decision-making process... the blood of Crusader voters is even more deserving of being spilled than the blood of Crusader combatants. May Allah make this year's U.S. presidential election a dreadful calamity like no other to have struck America throughout its pathetic history.” Katz is said to have put up paragraphs from the essay on Twitter stating that ISIS was planning an attack on Election Day “in an attempt to disrupt the election process and gain media attention.” ISIS, in its essay, said that there was merely one difference between Clinton and Trump - “The only differences between Trump and Clinton are that Clinton is more skilled in 'political correctness', giving her leverage in the sorcery of hypocrisy.”

The essay, published in English also included photos of Donald Trump, Tim Kaine and Khizr Khan, the father of the fallen Muslim U.S. soldier. Meanwhile, ISIS is not the only terrorist organisation that has warned of disrupting the election process. Even though the country’s law enforcement bodies have increased security across the nation, America still faces a threat from Al Qaeda, that recently warned of conducting 9/11-esque attacks in the U.S. on election day. However, officials from the government are still trying to work out the legitimacy of the threats claiming that they still fall in the grey area. In an official statement, the FBI said, “The counter-terrorism and homeland security communities remain vigilant and well-postured to defend against attacks here in the United States.”

did he pull his gun? if he had, that would be intimidation. That woman that wept and sobbed is the same kind of character who would turn you in to CPS for letting your kids play alone in your fenced in back yard......................
She "felt" intimidated, she actually wasn't

Intimidation is a feeling. whether what happened would have felt intimidating to you or not it did to her, and given the trumpkin propensity for violence I understand why.

They may just be hoping that people in the states listed avoid going to the polls. I doubt they would be able to pull off anything major.

I don't think ISIL has the ability to conduct a major strike in the US. Note, they also threatened attacks for today. So far nothing.

What ISIL may be trying to do is motivate lone wolves and grass roots jihadists into conducted their own attacks.
