Trump gives Nikki Haley UN Ambassador.....she has told the AP she will accept. Now this I would disagree with. She has no FP experience and those Europeans and Sunni Arabs will run rampshod over her. The same for the Asians. Trump has wasted this pick based on overreach to show unity with Repubs and giving a woman who backed off her endorsing of him. What say ye?

President-elect Donald Trump will tap South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, according to sources who confirmed the pick to the Associated Press (http://townhall.com/news/politics-elections/2016/11/23/ap-sources-trump-taps-gov-nikki-haley-for-ambassador-to-un-n2249536).

Haley was an outspoken Trump critic throughout much of the presidential race. If confirmed by the Senate, she would become the first female — and first non-white — Cabinet-level official in the Trump administration. She's the second Asian-American to serve as a U.S. governor. Trump plans to treat the job as a Cabinet-level position, according to the sources.

Despite her misgivings about Trump, she met with the president-elect last week at Trump Tower. Afterward, Haley said they'd had a "very nice" conversation......snip~

As it states.....Trump plans to make his UN Ambassador as a Cabinet member. He should have went with someone who has experience and not try to wing it. Haley will be dealing with to much that is way over her head.

But Trumps buddy McMaster will now take step up to take the Governorship of S. Carolina.

Haley's new job clears the way for Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster to step into the role of South Carolina governor. McMaster was an early Trump endorser, backing him before the state's GOP primary in February......snip~

Well since his bench is short, he has no where else to go for picks but Family or People who don't like or respected him.

UN Ambassador ... well she'll be invisible for the next 4 years.

I think his next pick will be his Mother In-Law.

Dumpf does not know what hes' doing ... does not want to be prez and certainly didn't believe he was gonna win ... he only knows crony-nepotism which the GOP hopes to exploit and now there's certainly no law enforcement nor congressional oversight.

And from what I understand ... the U.N. has initiated a coalition against Trump.

So, experience matters?

Yes experience does matter.....but that doesn't mean anyone with experience knows how to handle other people that they don't know how they react, that they have no control over. Nor does it mean anyone with experience can be a leader.

I don't either. But she's another example of how Trump's administration is run by a bunch of unqualified people -- from the top down.

The angry Trump voters wanted outsiders. They got outsiders. It's a circus.

Nikki Haley: Does it matter that a UN ambassador has no foreign policy experience?
24 November 2016 - Notwithstanding his boasts about knowing more than the generals, Donald Trump also stressed during the 2016 campaign that those with greater foreign policy experience made a mess of the world, Iraq in particular. Actual experience was overrated.

When Americans went to the polls on 8 November to select the next leader of the world's most powerful nation, voters in 30 of America's 50 states agreed. Trump is now the president-elect and putting together his national security team. While it's hard to discern the pillars of a Trump foreign policy from his actual choices and rumoured favourites - his transition is proving to be every bit as unconventional and unpredictable as his candidacy - actual experience is not a prerequisite to be America's chief diplomats, the secretary of state and US ambassador to the United Nations.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley appears to be Trump's pick to be UN ambassador. Former Massachusetts Governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney is one of the frontrunners to be secretary of state. Another is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. None of them possess a lengthy foreign policy resume. Does their lack of experience in geo-politics matter? Well, no and yes. When it comes to the geo-, each would be supported by a career diplomatic bureaucracy to develop policy options and talking points.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley addresses the crowd during a campaign rally for Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio at Clemson University Friday, February 19, 2016 in Clemson, South Carolina

Policy doesn't advance in a vacuum. Gaining international support for what America wants to do is all about politics. As successful elected officials, their political skills can serve them well. Many leading international diplomats are politicians, although their skill and knowledge can vary widely, from the profound to the profane. For every prime minister like Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, who can provide off-the-cuff a detailed and sophisticated tour d'horizon of the Asia-Pacific region, there is a boorish novice like Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

Hillary Clinton frequently cited her electoral experience as a senator and presidential candidate in diplomatic meetings to break the ice with a foreign leader. She understood that hesitation to follow American advice was frequently less about a substantive disagreement than a local political problem. Her ability to relate, politician to politician, made her more effective. The lack of foreign policy experience will not be a big issue externally - America's relationships with key allies and friends are driven by long-standing interests.

Which Trump?

Trump 1.0 was fine with abortion and universal healthcare.

Trump 2.0 is a liar who exploited millions of people -- offering them ridiculous promise after promise that they decadently soaked up without even wondering if they were attainable. He used their fear against them; he was a perfect demagogue who painted a sinister picture of America, then promised to fix it. He worked his fans into a frenzy -- terrified of Muslims, Mexicans... and the entire non-American world. He spent their campaign money on his lavish lifestyle, claiming to be one of them... a man of the people. They bought he con from a great con artist: he literally wrote the book on it. There will be no wall, no Muslim ban, no abortion prohibitions, no Hillary investigation, no repeal of Obamacare, no waterboarding.
