:D I was wondering what that was about. ??? It's a shame that people like Cornel West, for example, don't understand that their presence turns a lot of people off. As poor as my opinion is of the current governing class I would feel ridiculous attending a protest with Sarandon and West.

Michael medved had one of their so called leaders on his radio show. Trying to figure out what they are all about. I sat and listened to the guy talk for like 30 mins and Medved was like yeah but what is it that you want. This guy was all over the place. Then he started talking about how the community was helping each other out and thats the way it should be.

All other callers hit them up for trying to embellish on the Class Warfare. That is about the only thing they were talking about. Medved smoked the guy. Which now we know why none of the MSM was really running with it.

Welcome to the board.

As for the demands, what does that even mean ???

End the Corruption.....Power to the People. ::) Problem is most of the people are corrupt so what does that even mean. Not to mention how much it is costing to have extra police patroling. Traffic jams, buisnesses, with extra security, all of it costs and adds up doesnt it.

Stop corruption..... ::) why arent they in DC around Congress then. No they are down in the Big money making District. Yet acting like Unions are not corrupt. That the middle class is not corrupt or that even the poor are not corrupt. One second calling for morality and the next wanting equality with someone else's money. No this is nothing more than the Class Warfare bullshit. >:(

When the rich are raping the middle and lower class it's the free market, but when we speak out suddenly it's class warfare? No. That is wrong.

Conley

I think calling it a class war is silly. It's not a war. That said the wealthy in this country have absolutely changed the game to their benefit. The people have a right to be upset, but IMO it starts with the politicians charged with setting and enforcing the laws. I don't think the lower and/or middle economic classes are any more moral or altruistic than those on top. People are people.

No, I don't think the people are asking for more money. You are right that the problem starts with the politicians who are taking the bribes...sorry, campaign contributions. Still Goldman Sachs is basically the same thing as the Fed now and the Treasury Department.

I'd hate to think the protesters are asking for more money. Their parents only have so much.

It's a war all right. Americans are dying. Freezing to death, lack of medical care, et cetera.

Obviously not many though...the lack of basic health care is much more significant. Still don't think it's a war though.

When he says Americans are freezing to death I assume he is talking about a common occurrence as opposed to isolated incidents. I don't think there is an epidemic, as it were, of Americans freezing to death every winter. If his hero Obama keeps spending like, however, who knows.

Was it Chavez who was offering free oil to seniors in the NE U.S. after some of them lost their heating? In any event I am certain it's not a common occurrence. It's sad when it happens but it's more of an accidental death like crossing the street or something of a fluke like that.

Yes but it was through a western company. I can't remember who. Shell?

Oh, it's awful. No question about it but we're a nation of 300 million plus people. Shitty stuff like that will happen. It's gets pretty cold here in NJ between January and mid March but dozens of grandmas aren't dying from the cold. In fact, I'm sure it has happened but I don't ever remember reading about it.

http://news.yahoo.com/700-arrested-protest-nys-brooklyn-bridge-030009188.html

NEW YORK (AP) — More than 700 protesters demonstrating against corporate greed, global warming and social inequality, among other grievances, were arrested Saturday after they swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge and shut down a lane of traffic for several hours in a tense confrontation with police.

The group Occupy Wall Street has been camped out in a plaza in Manhattan's Financial District for nearly two weeks staging various marches, and had orchestrated an impromptu trek to Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon. They walked in thick rows on the sidewalk up to the bridge, where some demonstrators spilled onto the roadway after being told to stay on the pedestrian pathway, police said.

The majority of those arrested were given citations for disorderly conduct and were released, police said.....snip~

Corporate Greed, Social Inequalities, and of course Global Warming. Marching for Mankind's Morality. Looks Like they took it down to Brooklyn. Are they going to visit the Casino's and the Mob too. Might as Well a Stop on down to those Union Offices around down there.

Problem is when they talk to these people they are all bitching at the Republicans. As if Obama isn't a part of Wall Street. HELLOOOOOOOO. Uhm The Attorney Classification pretty much says it all on that past Working Hard Experience.

Right. They need to do a little more homework unless the real point is just to make noise and have fun.
