President-elect Donald Trump has chosen former Texas governor and GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry as Secretary of Energy.

Perry was a staunch opponent of Trump in the GOP primary, calling him a "cancer on conservative," but issued full support once Trump was declared the nominee......snip~

This was an unusual pick.....I guess Trump thinks Perry will work well with Labor and EPA. What say ye.

So Trump picks the guy, who wanted to scrap the department of energy, to head it?

Couldn't write this narrative any better.

Rick Perry wouldnt be my pick for anything, he is not my favorite guy.
Its apparent that Trump is going to do things differently without regard for liberal wants and desires. Just like obama did for 8 yrs with conservatives. The left had their run.

I believe trumps idea is to reverse obamas do nothing at home and worry about importing illgals from all over the world and taking care of iran.

Trump wants to spur growth in AMERICA and create jobs that creates opportunity for everyone.

Maybe that's the plan, Perry's job is to neuter the DOE.

If that is the plan I support him in this endeavor.

Liberals ... like me ... are laughing their ass-off.

I would be more concerned if Donald Trump was appointing smart intelligent people, but this is just more entertainment.

Frankly, I'd be happy if Trump didn't F'ck Up for the next 4 years.

Does anyone here honestly believe that one candidate will sing the praises of another candidate while both are vying for the nomination? Hillary called Obama everything but a white boy but was chosen as his Secretary of State, didn't heard any outcry over that. Biden said Obama was "clean and articulate" and was chosen as his VP choice, no outcry once again. The fact that Perry was opposed to Trump when both had a chance at the nomination is considered normal by all but bubbleheads.

They forgot.....no Demo in Texas could defeat him. Couldn't raise more money than he could either. Plus couldn't win a debate against him.

Most will be proforma.

A few will take a few days. I predict nearly the entire cabinet will be in place by the end of February.

just like george w. bush.what does that say?

Bush wasn't a governor for 14 years, was he? Perry was the longest serving Governnor of Texas.....he also was a 2 term Agriculture Commissioner.

Maybe the newly created "Dept of Get $#@! Done"

This was a sincere question. Who ( what entity) would you envision taking over these responsibilities if you were to eliminate DOE? Talk is cheap. You should at least have a plan in place. On the other hand maybe it will be like the ACA. We'll repeal it but let it function for the next couple of years while we come up with a plan?
