View Full Version : Trump's Princelings

More left-wing trolling and whining, apparently. Of course, Richard Painter was Bush's chief ethics lawyer.

President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to allow his children to mix business with his pending presidency runs the risk of creating “princelings” like the offspring of leaders who serve as middlemen in China between the government and business, a former ambassador and ethics lawyer told members of Congress.

“What on earth are they thinking?” Eisen said. The former ambassador to the Czech Republic said the practice runs the risk of creating so-called “princelings,” derided in China as the influential children of political leaders.

“They’re used as a conduit to influence the leader,” Eisen said. “He needs to make a clean break, not just on operations, but on interest. And the kids have no place in the transition or in the government.”

JP Morgan last month agreed to pay $264 million to settle a U.S. probe into its practice of hiring well-connected Chinese “princelings” to win business, the Financial Times (https://www.ft.com/content/fc32b64e-ac87-11e6-ba7d-76378e4fef24)reported.
Eisen called for Trump to create “big beautiful walls, ethics law. The mingling of kids in government business and the transition is just unacceptable.”

Trump’s ownership calls into question another risk, Painter said: the Trump name is on buildings across the globe (http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/election/article116521098.html)“that could be subject to terrorist attacks,” he said.

Teapot, meet tempest. Stories based upon leftist speculations of what you think may happen are junk.

And no: where this guy comes from and his relationship with Bush doesn't disqualify him as a leftist. It can easily strengthen it, in fact. Who cares that another Establishment shill writes another hand-wringing piece that you progs coil yourselves around?

PS: why aren't you posting as exploited anymore?

1. You've been accused of it by several posters so far, and several others agree.

2. You have not denied it once.

3. You sound and act the same.

4. You started posting when exploited stopped.

5. You actually believe you're smart enough to get away with it.

Really? Even MMC? He should be able to set you straight.

2. You have not denied it once.

I don't intend to deny it (especially since that would not convince anyone). I'm genuinely amused, to be honest. Dance for me.

3. You sound and act the same.

Really? He sounds quite charming.

4. You started posting when exploited stopped.

Okay.

5. You actually believe you're smart enough to get away with it.
I would bet any amount of money, or take any wager, that you'll never be able to prove that I'm exploited or anyone else that has ever visited this forum.

As amusing as this is, I think there should be some kind of penalty for accusing others of being impostors/socks. I'm feeling exploited.

As many worry and occupy themselves with Donnie's kids and kleptocracy or kakistocracy, the ultra conservatives are going to hurt children, labor, women, and the rights of gays and trans citizens. Who cares if Trump kids steal some more, they all exist in LLC's now. Big money will stay big money, but what about American values, what happened to them?

'House conservatives' sweeping plan for Trump's first 100 days, explained... The Freedom Caucus has a plan.'

''Eliminate every program that takes on climate change'

'Say goodbye to Michelle Obama’s legacy on nutrition'

''Suspend protections for transgender kids in schools

''Create a friendlier environment for for-profit colleges

''Restrict access to a proven treatment for opioid and heroin addiction

''Eliminate new food safety measures'

"Mr. Trump is not the first American politician with authoritarian tendencies. (Other notable authoritarians include Gov. Huey Long of Louisiana and Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin.) But he is the first in modern American history to be elected president. This is not necessarily because Americans have grown more authoritarian (the United States electorate has always had an authoritarian streak). Rather it’s because the institutional filters that we assumed would protect us from extremists, like the party nomination system and the news media, failed."

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/16/opinion/sunday/is-donald-trump-a-threat-to-democracy.html"

One minute it’s “millions” of illegal votes for Hillary Clinton; then dangling little Mitt Romney; then being too smart for intelligence briefings. Let’s face it, folks. We have no idea what is about to happen in the White House or at White House North in Midtown Manhattan. We are in whatever territory lies beyond unknown unknowns."

You live by the pen, you die by the pen. I see that you are all exercised and apoplectic by the power that a thoroughly despised republican president may yield by Executive Order. I reminded everyone not to give Obama as much Executive Order power that you wouldn't want to give to a republican president. You all laughed at me, believing that you'd be in power forever. Now, you have only yourselves to blame. The cabinet is on you b/c you went for the nuclear option -- believing in eternal power. If Trump outlaws grandma, puppies and clean air by executive order, it's on you.

''Eliminate every program that takes on climate change'

These were largely done by executive order or by regulatory decree in violation of law by refusing to do the proper balancing test. As the SC has reviewed, they've struck. These regulations have largely been criticized for imposing great costs on our economy with no benefit to the climate. I reject the histrionics of the Vox author.

'Say goodbye to Michelle Obama’s legacy on nutrition'

I'm not sure what this means, exactly. Top down imposition to my local school district is wrong. There's no room for it in the USC. I applauded MO for her work and advocacy in this camp and I think that's her real legacy on this.

''Suspend protections for transgender kids in schools

This rule was issued by the Obama Administration in contravention of authority. The SC will strike this rule as an illegal usurpation of power. We are a country of laws, not men. Follow the law, Obama isn't a king. Rather than going to Congress, he did it by Fiat. He took that chance. Remember, the ends don't justify the means here.

'Create a friendlier environment for for-profit colleges

I'm not sure how this rule was created. I've eyed these institutions for years as frauds. I'm biased against them, so I'm with you on this but my personal feelings should not impact my analysis. I say go for it personally, but cringe if the rule was enacted in violation of the USC.

''Restrict access to a proven treatment for opioid and heroin addiction

Again, that pen thingy. If it's a good idea, congress should legislate it. Personally, I think that everything should be done to fight this scourge.

''Eliminate new food safety measures'
The suggestion by the Freedom Caucus will require legislation. You and Vox can weigh in on it. That's our system.

You have the exact same views and imperious style and your account picked up at exactly the same time that Exploited's started to taper off.

The fact that several posters have noticed this totally independently of one another is highly suggestive as well.

It's definitely Exploited. As someone who has sparred with Exploited on numerous occasions, I know his style and cadence extremely well. It comes through in almost every one of his posts and several people have noticed it without any coordination or suggestion between each other. The other day, another poster, totally out of the blue, told me he thought it was Exploited. And I agreed 100%. I had known this for a while but did not want to say anything until other posters started to notice it. Now they've noticed.

"libtard" and "mental retardation" are not the same usually. With liberals, the connection is different but similar. Of course, you should know that.

Mentally retarded or handicapped people are special, and should not be insulted by being referred to as a "libtard."
