More humiliation for the US.....and even more for BO peep and his team. The State Dept wasn't even invited to the talk on Syria. Of course they are trying to downplay this. Even funnier is how they still think they will lead the way.

'There Have Always Been Talks That Don't Involve Us'.....

Serious discussions are being held over an approaching end to the bloody civil war in Syria. Russia, Turkey and Iran will be participating. The U.S., however, was not invited.

Our exclusion, former UN Ambassador John Bolton told radio host Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday, is "really remarkable" and is a result of the Obama administration's weak foreign policy, which has diminished our international clout.

"It's a sign of the times," Bolton said. "It is a precise reflection of the diminution of American influence under the Obama administration."

The State Department, however, is insisting their absence is nothing out of the ordinary.

“It wasn’t about being kicked out of the party,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said. “There have always been multilateral discussions about Syria that we haven’t been a party to and this is another one. I totally understand that.”

The U.S., he said, is still going to be a leader in this effort......snip~

I don't blame them, Kerry is a moron....anyone who thinks bringing James Taylor in to sing "You've Got a Friend" after a terrorist attack is going to make them "feel better" is an emotional Kindergartner. He needs to just go wind surf.

It gets even better.....not only didn't they invite Kerry. They didn't tell the UN.

Russia (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/russiaandtheformersovietunion/index.html?inline=nyt-geo), Iran (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/iran/index.html?inline=nyt-geo) and Turkey (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/turkey/index.html?inline=nyt-geo) met in Moscow on Tuesday to work toward a political accord to end Syria (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/syria/index.html?inline=nyt-geo)’s nearly six-year war, leaving the United States on the sidelines as the countries sought to drive the conflict in ways that serve their interests.

Secretary of State John Kerry was not invited. Nor was the United Nations consulted.

With pro-government forces having made critical gains on the ground, the new alignment and the absence of any Western powers at the table all but guarantee that President Bashar al-Assad (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/a/bashar_al_assad/index.html?inline=nyt-per) will continue to rule Syria under any resulting agreement, despite President Obama’s declaration more than five years ago that Mr. Assad had lost legitimacy and had to be removed.

Mr. Obama’s reluctance to back that demand with more involvement as the war escalated leaves Washington with little leverage on a geopolitical crisis as President-elect Donald J. Trump prepares to take office......snip~

Take out ISIS by himself. It's easy when you know more than the Generals, restrict daily briefings to 'tell me something new' and 'let them keep it' when it won't just be a drone but American military prisoners.

Given our track record in such matters, that's probably a good thing.

Why didn't you say that about BO peep.....especially since he wouldn't listen to his generals? And then you never said anything about BO the peep missing his daily Intel briefing saying the same thing that Trump said.

And how is there going to be American Prisoners.....when the US isn't even going to be part of solving the problem? Face the facts.....other World leaders know BO peep was kissing that Suad and Sunni ass, yet still failed.

Mr. Obama’s reluctance to challenge Mr. Assad angered the Syrian opposition and allies like Saudi Arabia who wanted Mr. Assad gone.

But that policy angered Turkey, which saw the United States arming fighters linked to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or P.K.K., which both Turkey and the United States consider a terrorist organization.

At the meeting, Russia, Iran and Turkey agreed to “the Moscow Declaration,” a framework (http://www.mid.ru/ru/foreign_policy/news/-/asset_publisher/cKNonkJE02Bw/content/id/2573489?p_p_id=101_INSTANCE_cKNonkJE02Bw&_101_INSTANCE_cKNonkJE02Bw_languageId=en_GB) for ending the Syrian conflict. They did not consult the United States, nor did they invite Staffan de Mistura, the United Nations envoy for Syria, who has spoken of new peace talks in Geneva on Feb. 8.

“This is Turkey bending to Russia,” Mr. Stein said. “This is putting a fine point on Turkey’s policy of ‘Assad must go’ no longer being the policy.”

But the United States remains relevant in its relationships with rebel factions and the fight against the Islamic State, said Noah Bonsey, a Syria analyst with the International Crisis Group. Mr. Bonsey added that Mr. Assad’s coalition probably still lacked the personnel needed to take back the rest of Syria’s territory, but that as long as the United States wavered on involvement, other powers would fill the vacuum.

“Insofar as diplomacy on Syria can accomplish anything,” he said, “it will be between Russian and Turkey, with input from Iran.”....snip~

Why didn't I?
I would certainly consider it, the moment Republicans on this forum praise Obama, even if it's for sleeping with his mouth open.

This was a meeting between Assad and his only allies. I am not sure how they hold a meeting to end the war in Syria without the other side there. Unless to end the war means to press the attack and make the other side surrender or die.

Perhaps we should take the hint.

Why oh why would they exclude a nation and globalist organization trying bring about yet another regime change?

It's really easy to see why the US would be excluded since they've been determined to overthrow the gov't from day 1, but why omit a reputable organization like the world's peace corps called the UN?

Maybe because Jordan is one of those states funding the terrorists trying to overthrow the Syrian gov't.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein (http://www.ohchr.org/EN/AboutUs/Pages/HighCommissioner.aspx) who just happens to be Jordanian royalty, married to Princess Sarah Zeid and was formerly Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States of America from 2007 to 2010
