Do you have any models — are there heroes that you steer by — people you look up to from the past?

Well, I don’t like heroes, I don’t like the concept of heroes, the concept of heroes is never great, but certainly you can respect certain people and certainly there are certain people — but I’ve learnt a lot from my father — my father was a builder in Brooklyn and Queens — he did houses and housing and I learnt a lot about negotiation from my father — although I also think negotiation is a natural trait, I don’t think you can, you either have it or you don’t, you get better at it but basically, the people that I know who are great negotiators or great salesmen or great politicians, it’s very natural, very natural . . . I got a letter from somebody, their congressman, they said what you’ve done is amazing because you were never a politician and you beat all the politicians. He said they added it up — when I was three months into the campaign, they added it up — I had three months of experience and the 17 guys I was running against, the Republicans, had 236 years – ya know when you add 20 years and 30 years — so I was three months they were 236 years — so it’s sort of a funny article but I believe it’s like hitting a baseball or being a good golfer — natural ability, to me, is much more important to me than experience and experience is a great thing — I think it’s a great thing — but I learnt a lot from my father in terms of leadership.

Most incoming world leaders would name a teacher, a coach, a historical figure, a religious or ethical leader.

Trump briefly mentions his money grubbing old man who attended KKK meetings and barred people of color from his rental apartments, then spends the rest of his answer about his heroes talking about himself.

Politicians obviously think a lot of themselves or they wouldn't be running. They put themselves on pedestals. It's the nature of the beast.

Trump is in a special class when it comes to narcissism FK .. best not to ignore it, as it crosses the line into dangerous territory.

So tell us, was that a good answer to a simple question about who his heroes were?

Obama has been asked that question many times over the years.

Having read extensively, he's given very articulate historical perspectives on his political heroes such as Washington, Lincoln and Reagan.

This president is going to embarrass all of us - probably on a daily basis.

Yes, he'll embarrass a lot of folks -- that's probably a given. But, a lot of that is due to extensive media coverage that wasn't around when Lyndon Johnson was taking his penis out of his pants and waving it around. Back then, the media conspired to give the American people the idea the the office of the presidency was something important -- something to be respected.

When Bill Clinton was in office, that started to change. Who doesn't remember shaking their head over the cigar story? I was one of few conservatives that felt we ought to leave his private life out of it, but, that didn't happen. Then, we got to see the Bush twins falling down drunk, but, fortunately the Obama girls were pretty protected, minus Malia's pot smoking and twerking.

I think Trump will continue to shoot his mouth off. That's who he is. I also think he'll make a lot of historical mistakes when it comes to citing policy and law, because he's not a professional politician.

I don't care about any of that. What I care about is how he governs, and if he can keep our nation strong while maintaining peace and boosting the economy.

The rest is just childish BS.

So the Harvard bound kid took a toke and danced a little?

Oh the humanity!

So did virtually everyone else in her graduating class.

No. You can google it. I'm not interested in promoting what should remain private activities of the First Daughter.

Dude, you need to go back and count the words spent praising his father vs HIMSELF ;-)

Dude, you need to understand what the letter story was about.

You're wasting your time. The partisans have their talking points and nothing is going to change that.

Right. Mark seems to think he's making a serious contribution with these petty Trump threads. Cigar and exotix seem to have accepted that they are perceived as buffoons.

I don't perceive either as buffoons, but could certainly name 8-10 on your side.

Just sayin' ;-)

THAT is what i'm talking about.

Those O Girls comported themselves with class and dignity.

If they were my daughters, i'd have been sad that one of them was caught on cam taking a measly toke, but the "twerking" part?

Jesus, she was an adult - and as long as she wasn't fall down stoned, drunk or arrested? .. all good.
