OMG, a 1% drop, not to mention "Wall Street also looked ahead to a heavy week of economic data, corporate earnings and the latest meeting by the Federal Reserve set to begin Tuesday."

Is this another one of your examples of Global Chaos ??

Come Bo-4, your exaggerations are mind numbingly silly.

The people got their man. Considering Trump has been bankrupt before does the market matter to a complete buffoon?

"On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." H. L. Mencken

"Considering all his advantages, Trump’s electoral victory should have been expected. Yet it was a stunning shock, because of his manifest personal unsuitability to hold an Office of such responsibility in a democratic polity. Below I shall explain this unsuitability in terms of several types of failure—ignorance and willful dissimulation, intolerance and the refusal to acknowledge fellow citizens as equals, and vices of political morality—inimical to the realization of democratic values. I shall suggest that the willingness of Trump voters to overlook such failures exhibited related departures from the ideal of democratic citizenship belonging to the most defensible conception of democracy." S. A. Lloyd http://www.thecritique.com/articles/failure-of-democracy/

I am going to leave you in the "Undecided" column.

It has to really bother you to have a President who puts Americans first. I am enjoying every moment of it.

Indeed how are we spending billions on a refugee assistance program AT ALL? There shouldn't be a temporary ban, the program should be terminated and the money diverted to help you know....Americans. Specifically homeless Americans, you know our own domestic 'refugees' -- absolutely outrageous.

Hooray for President Trump! I couldn't be happier; he's doing everything he promised to do. And, as usual, the (bankrupt) left resorts to name-calling. It's fun to watch.

Yes .. last October would indeed be "MONTHS"- Five of them to be precise.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.61% (http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/djia?mod=MW_story_quote) finished down 122.65 points, or 0.6%, at 19,971.13, dropping below the psychologically important 20,000 level. Earlier, the average was down by as many as 223 points. The last time the average had a worse day was Oct. 11, according to FactSet data. Shares of Caterpillar Inc.CAT, -2.22% (http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/cat?mod=MW_story_quote) , DuPont DD, -2.19% (http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/dd?mod=MW_story_quote) and Chevron Corp. CVX, -1.73% (http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/cvx?mod=MW_story_quote) weighed on the average.

Bo my boy look at every news paper in the past few weeks and they said a sell off was coming. The market corrects itself on average every 7 months. We haven't had a correction in 12. Do some research somewhere other than the dailykos for god sakes..

Bo's calculation is not accurate. Since the 2008 downturn we are back to where we started maybe a little above in our portfolio's. The regulations and Obamacare has hurt growth badly. I am glad you are in the market because the next three years are gonna rock. It is time for a republican correction, time to let the big dog eat.

Btw bad news for dem voters. Great news for business. Progressivism is bad for economics. The governemmt needs to quit restricting business and attract more /new business. Obama was an economic retard.

The market closed .61% down. It will likely recover this loss today or certainly by the end of the week. It was likely an emotional reaction to either the executive orders or the protests. Either way, it was not a rational sell-off.

If you dig a bit deeper you may have lost money for a variety of reasons. Here is the most likely one. The Congress is trying very hard to avoid simplifying the tax code and reducing our taxes. I bet that accounts for most of the contraction.

On a half million dollars worth of investments in stocks and bonds, when it was all said and done I lost about $100. You might be doing investing all wrong. Either that or you have 5-6 million dollars in investments. Congratulations, if you do.

No. The Congress is trying to NOT cut taxes and simplify the law. That came out on Friday afternoon. The fools in Congress care far more about themselves than they do the nation.
