An Unintended Side Effect of Trump's Border Wall (https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/02/trump-wall-migrants-immigration/516000/)

Since the Great Recession, more Mexicans have left the United States than migrated there. Constructing a barrier along the southern border may discourage more from going.

An interesting thought. The wall may actually be counterproductive.

No, its a really bad point because nobody is stopping them from sneaking out. You just walk across......anywhere including the spots that are currently walled.

They have no idea really.

America in recession is still more attractive than Mexico in a boom.

LOL, didn't read the link did you.

Net immigration is negative. It is because more are sneaking out and less are coming in.

Now listen carefully because this is the main point:

Walls are not one way. IF they prevent travel in one direction the do it in the other direction as well.

Understand now?

We will happily show them the door.

They're not really counting. I can't say it any other way. They don't know really how many illegal immigrants are in the country. The illegal immigrants who do make it into the country or leaving aren't conveniently accounting for themselves.

Now listen carefully because this is the main point:

Which is false as I will demonstrate shortly.

Walls are not one way. IF they prevent travel in one direction the do it in the other direction as well.

But you're missing the basic point. They don't NEED to SNEAK out.

Understand now?

Do you?

For instance, at San Ysidro and Tijuana where the border IS walled.

You will see NO Mexicans climbing the wall to get out.

Why? Because they just walk across LEGALLY.

The United States, every nation has a right and need to control who enters. The is little difference between great numbers crossing into a country under force of arms or strength of argument, if the citizens can not control entry, that country will be occupied, that country is conquered.

We need that wall!

Was negative, not "is." in 2014, it appears more more Mexicans migrated back to Mexico than migrated here, although absolute counts are impossible given the secretive nature of the illegals.

However, an uptick began in 2015 and has continued.

If that is your main point -- it is a poor one. Illegal immigrants do not come to the US through our point of entry because they are immediately apprehended. They CAN, however, leave to return to Mexico through our points of entry. No one stops them and makes them stay in the US.

Milo addressed just that. I didn't really know who this guy was until the Berkeley riots, so I did some research.
