Remember when Voting?

The people of the northeast coast of the United States are facing down one of the worst storms in years, as Hurricane Sandy barrels towards New York City. This serves as a stark reminder of the importance of having a government that has the capacity to decently take care of its people.

In order for the government to have that capacity, it needs funding. Last June, House Democrats proposed an amendment to increase funding for the government’s ability to respond to mass flooding, with a $31.6 million appropriation for “flood control and coastal emergencies so we can train and plan for natural disasters, respond to hurricanes, fight floods, and repair storm damage reduction projects.”

Republicans overwhelmingly voted down the amendment in a 233-185 vote. Only two Republicans supported the measure — Rep. Steve King (IA) and Rep. Tom Latham (IA).

They voted down a whole new federal boondoggle. How awful.

FEMA already handles this stuff, and oh so wonderfully, so yes of course, a new government program to be run with the standard Washington efficiency, allowed to swell like a boil, being fed more cash every year, growing into malignancy like all government run programs, accountable to no one, yet fed by the theft of my tax dollars.

Great fucking idea, genius.

You don't comprehend English too well. Typical OhBama supporters are too stupid to know what's good for them.

Go back to sleep, honey buns.

Is BoldProgressives a euphemism for LyingJackass? So, the Democrats proposed an amendment? Isn't that precious. An Amendment to the Constitution? No, they have no use to the Constitution. An amendment to a bill. What bill? Well, the lying jackasses don't tell us that, do they? I wonder if it was the "spend $16 trillion on crap bill? Maybe it was a bill to permit aborting your child up to the age of twelve? We don't know, do we? So, Cigar, did your handlers tell you what the bill was or are they lying to you, too?

Well, the bill was entitled "Making appropriations for energy and water development and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2013, and for other purposes." Wow! And other purposes? Sounds like a typical Democrat Pork Bill doesn't it. All but seven of the Democrats voted for it so it has to be bad.

While we're on the subject, though. Remember that Sen. Harry "I lie for Obama" Reid has stopped any Republican-led jobs bill from even getting a vote in the Senate. Obstructionists only.

The people of the NE waste enough money on state and local government to pay for flood control sufficient to handle Noah's flood.

Let them pay for it.

Our government would be more than capable of adequately caring for the people if they didn't feel wasting our money before it's even collected were their job.
