Greece is in a tax evasion crisis. Using a variety of sources I estimated earlier this year (http://www.socialistsanddemocrats.eu/gpes/media3/documents/3842_EN_richard_murphy_eu_tax_gap_en_120229.pdf) that 27.5% of its economy (http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/oct/29/britain-shares-greeks-taxing-problem#) was unrecorded giving rise to a total loss to tax evasion that could be as high as €19.2bn a year. Now you can argue with the figures, but few disagree that Greece is in the premier league of European tax evasion, outdoing Italy (just) and leaving Spain trailing in its wake

American tax evaders do it from the happy position of having bribed the legislators and judiciary into submission. The Greeks have done much the same thing.

No big contributor to a US presidential campaign has ever been convicted of criminal behaviour - though everyone who is not a complete idiot knows the American elite is replete with financial criminals.

Sooner or later, people are going to get sick of a society rigged in every way to protect the interests of elites.

In NZ, we routinely convict and jail financial fraudsters.

One day it will happen in the US - and Greece. Or there will be blood.

After the S&L crisis in the 1980s, over 1000 bankers were convicted and jailed. We need to do that again.

He must be bored. Not much going on in NZ. Other than working on the Hobbit.

It behoves you yet again to be wrong.

I've no doubt of that. And all taught to you by leftwing professors whose lessons had nothing to do with reality.

Let the heavens save me from your "reality".

Fortunately, they have.

I almost believe in a god.

I'm one of the whites still paying billions to the Maori for stealing their land. 150 years ago.

Most people don't mind the compensations - within reason. You have to understand that the Maori were not (unlike the American or Canadian Indians, or the Australian aborigines) a subject race. NZ was set up as a joint enterprise with Maori under treaty with the British crown.

Settlers got greedy, used force, and confiscated land that should never have been confiscated.

No-one has an issue with fair compensation.

LOL You ignorantly assume everyone has the same definition of "fair compensation"

Yes. And "fair compensation" does not include ludicrous claims Maori have made to the foreshore and seabed, radio waves, water, and air space.
