Part two of the simple test. Once again, I'm not referring to progressives, moderates, socialists, marxists, et. al, just a simple question on what the first thing that pops in your mind when you see a "D" behind someone's name or the term "democratic" on an ad.

There are other adjectives that come to mind, some you mentioned and some you didn't, but since the early sixties, Democrats have been liberal and racing to be more of some of those words you said we shouldn't use.

It has been said that college institutions are run by liberal professors, that does not mean that there are no conservative professors. When you think "pro-choice" do you think conservative? Does that mean there are no conservatives that are "pro-choice"?

Basically what I am saying is, sure there are outliers, but that isn't what this is about.

It's called an analogy, Chris. It isn't about overgeneralization, it's about being honest with one's self.

Speaking of which, I requested an action to be taken.

Seems limited. Not sure why you needed to confirm this point. Liberal is associated with the party. I will say it's more appropriate that many mainstream liberals feel the nuts have consumed their party. That is one thing that happened last cycle. Being a liberal is fine. Being an politically correct hack is a whole nutha thang!

I am physically a somewhat conservative or shall I say traditional but I have many liberal social views.

I voted liberal, however Democratic and democratic don't mean the same things. "Democrats" are generally more liberal, at least socially, than "Republicans". The term democratic however relates to a system of government although when capitalized refers to the party. There is a tendency to conflate the two as there is with the terms republican and Republican. Ironically, a Democrat could be a republican and Republican could be a democrat.

“I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.” - Leonardo da Vinci

Animals murder animals routinely, everywhere you look. So it's okay for animals to murder animals, often in a cruel and savage way, but not for humans to raise them and kill them quickly to eat?

Liberals are fond of claiming that things like, oh, homosexuality is just fine "because it doesn't bother anybody else."
Abortion is fine because "it's a woman's body." And "If you don't like abortions, don't get one."
But when it comes to imposing liberals' view on everybody else, THAT'S a different story. More laws, more controls, more fascism, because LIBERALS always know best. Always.

That's actually my sig line, but if Safety doesn't mind I'll respond. First I'm not a liberal. I voted for Trump, although not with a lot of enthusiasm. Second, I believe that it's not wrong to eat meat if there's nothing else to eat. Third, I think animals deserve a life free from injury if possible. Fourth, I know animals eat other animals -- they do it to survive -- we're supposed to be a bit smarter, right? Fifth, I'm healthier than you and I will live longer. Sixth, I think a lot of animals are better than people. Seventh, what the hell does abortion have to do with anything? I oppose abortion after the third trimester for all but the most desperate reasons.

GOP ⇏ Right.

Obamacare is being replaced. They're stealing his thunder.

Your opinion. Why don't you host a poll and see how many here think of the right when the GOP is mentioned.

Edit...nevermind, I already did it. http://thepoliticalforums.com/threads/79799-In-terms-of-US-politics-when-you-think-of-the-GOP-do-you

The only variable in the poll was those on the right that did not like the GOP, therefore they voted neither. I should not have listed it as an option, because I knew there would be some that wants to argue ideology and not reality.

An ideology is a description or explanation of reality.

Next time you want to force everyone into an overly simplistic, myopic view, just say so.
