KIM JONG-UN has threatened to unleash a “merciless” attack on America if joint military exercises with South Korea continue.Hes such an annoying fat little big mouth

He said he would attack his Western enemies from “ground, air, sea and underwater” in a sabre-rattling statement released through state media.
The propaganda press agency KCNA indicated the blood-thirsty despot was becoming increasingly agitated by the joint military drills south of the border.
A statement attributed to Kim said: “If they infringe on the DPRK's sovereignty and dignity even a bit, its army will launch merciless ultra-precision strikes from ground, air, sea and underwater

North Korea, for now, is only a regional threat. As he gets closer to an ICBM a first strike on NK comes closer.

Little Kim doesn't scare me a bit - the second he lobs one of those things at a neighbor (or us) Pyongyang will be turned to glass.

Although it is temping, Los Angeles is not an acceptable trade for Pyongyang.

They're years away from putting a nuke on a long range missile.

Should they ever even threaten such a thing - PooF goes Pyongyang.

The US and South Korean governments have been conducting military exercises off of North Korea's shores for decades, openly conspiring to overthrow North Korea's government. But let's pretend, like we always do, that the US government has played no role in instigating this conflict because that would require introspection and self-criticism which Americans despise.

The ICBM is the indicator that the West is watching. We will never be able to tell when they can attach a nuke, until it is too late.

The last thing South Korea wants is responsibility for rebuilding the north. They don't have the cash; or more to the point- they are too greedy to take the serious hit to their economy to rebuild the north's economy after a take over.

Cannot agree with you here. They conduct exercises to ensure that they're ready for this nut, and as a form of deterrent.

They aren't there being antagonistic towards Pyongyang; if that were so, we'd already have a unified Korea.

They could hit South Korea or Japan with what they have. Are they acceptable losses?

Well, he has decided on a Missile Shield being put in S. Korea for starters.

All of the US government's adversaries and enemies are portrayed as irrational nuts with their finger on the button. Saddam; Qaddafi; Assad; Putin; Iranian Mullahs; Kim Jong Un, etc. And all the US government's aggressive, imperialist policies are studiously ignored in the examination of said adversary's actions. This narrative is crafted by the CIA and disseminated by the corporate media. I'll let you decide if those sources are credible or not.

Do you consider Kim to be rational?

Do you consider Kim to be rational?
From his perspective and the perspective of his nation, yes. He is responding how any leader would respond to the presence of an external threat on their borders and shores. The fact that his domestic propaganda narratives are laughable and ridiculous is not proof of irrationality.

Heck, even Donald Trump, who is the CIA's enemy, is being portrayed as an unstable, dangerous figure who needs to be contained. It's the same CIA narrative as always. The world is scary, full of crazies, and only we can protect you. But in order to protect you, we need your money and your freedoms. It's the oldest trick in the authoritarian book. Conjure up external threats, paralyze the people with fear, and rule over them like cattle.

I'm sure it sucks to live inside North Korea. But that does not prove that North Korea's foreign policy is irrational or aggressive. Not saying that's your intent, but the two are often conflated with one another.

Remember before Desert Shield / Storm, a Kuwaiti woman claiming to be a nurse who escaped testified before congress that she witnessed Iraqi soldiers killing babies in a hospital. She was in fact the daughter of a Kuwaiti diplomat assigned to the US.

Has President Donald Trump ever had one of his generals executed for falling asleep during a meeting? Has he had his own half brother assassinated? Has he personally machine gunned political prisoners.

Kim is a certifiable nut case and irrational and could at any moment start launching his laughable Navy against the West.

So you are basically an isolationist who believes the United States should never go outside its borders to protect itself? Is that a fair assessment?

Most of the high level people Kim had killed had ties to China. Kim may be pruning the possible replacements for him from a Chinese perspective.

STRATFOR has a good article that discusses possible rationality behind NK's moves.

If you believe the CIA and their corporate media lackeys, Trump is basically an agent of Russia.
