Biggest four UK ISPs switching to 'opt-in' system for pornography

David Cameron unveils deal with big four providers based on charity's proposals to protect children from sexual content

Subscribers to four of the UK's biggest internet service providers will have to "opt in" if they want to view sexually explicit websites, as part of government-sponsored curbs on online pornography.

The measures will be unveiled on Tuesday as David Cameron hosts No 10 meeting with the Mothers' Union, which earlier this year produced a raft of proposals to shield children from sexualised imagery.

The prime minister is expected to announce other moves in line with the Christian charity's review, such as restrictions on aggressive advertising campaigns and certain types of images on billboards.

There will also be a website, Parentport, which parents can use to complain about television programmes, advertisements, products or services which they believe are inappropriate for children.

So it starts with porn...then the government decides there are other legal websites which you should not be viewing. God bless America and government hands off our boobies! >:( >:( ;D

Yep. Actually I am surprised they didn't start with that, they seem more accepting of the human body over there. I would have guessed they'd start with "hate" and/or any depiction of violence.

I guess they thought this would be an easier first step? In any case, it won't end there.

Definitely - it is a slippery slope.

They've already arrested website owners and charged them with "hate crimes" or whatever their term is for it over there.

Coming from the culture that I do it's surprising to me that people would accept this sort of thing. Different values I guess.

Yes, I thought the pendulum was now swinging the other way in that the UK was waking up from their PC foolishness but it seems the "conservatives" in that country just like here are intent on making government bigger. I admit I don't know much about Cameron.

The UK's political class serves its own interests first. Just like ours.

Cameron doesn't seem like a bad guy but the entire establishment is rotten. He was on Hannity a few times a while back. I bet he still is from time to time but I haven't watched tha show in many moons.
