Michael Mann – he of the global warming “hockey stick” graph – claimed in a D.C. court that he had won the Nobel Peace Prize (just like Obama). That’s news to the Nobel people.

They hand out Nobel peace Prizes like candy but Michael Mann hasn’t got that Snickers bar just yet.

The NRO mocks him with an ad in the Penn State newspaper.

Warmers do live in their own dream world.

He lied? WOW, just wow.

They should cut disaster relief by 100 percent.

If you live in a hurricane prone zone and one comes along and wipes your house out thats your own damn fault.

If the forecasters TELL YOU that a hurricane is coming for a week and you choose not to leave and the hurricane causes flooding and you wind up on the roof.

Thats your own damn fault.

If they tell you for weeks prior, "Hey the city is built below sea level" and that the hurricane may cause severe flooding as a result. And you wind up living in the football stadium with no food and water.

Thats your own damn fault.

Not the fault of the person sitting in the Oval office and not the fault of someone living in Arizona, why should that person have to pay to send rescue helicopters to save your dumb ass or rebuild your house time and time and time again?

Same with those living in flood plains.

30 years ago they were talking about how all this construction at ground level on these barrier islands along NJ and NY was going to get wiped out if even a minimal hurricane coincided with other conditions to cause a serious storm surge.

Fact is, Sandy was, by hurricane standards, a minimal storm. And, when combined with hardly unusual conditions of other weather systems typical to the east at this time of year, and a high tide at the exact right time, that is exactly what happened.

All this construction is just a few feet above sea level. It was stupid to build there to begin with and it will be even more stupid to rebuild there.

Awards
Mann was awarded the Phillip M. Orville Prize in 1997 for an outstanding dissertation in the earth sciences at Yale University. His co-authorship of a scientific paper published by Nature (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Nature_(journal)) won him an award from the Institute for Scientific Information (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Institute_for_Scientific_Information) (ISI) in 2002, and another co-authored paper published in the same year won the NOAA's outstanding scientific publication award. He was named by Scientific American (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Scientific_American) as one of fifty "leading visionaries in science and technology." The Association of American Geographers (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Association_of_American_Geographers) awarded him the John Russell Mather Paper of the Year award in 2005 for a co-authored paper published in the Journal of Climate. The American Geophysical Union (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/American_Geophysical_Union) awarded him its Editors' Citation for Excellence in Refereeing in 2006 to recognize his contributions in reviewing manuscripts for its Geophysical Research Letters (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Geophysical_Research_Letters) journal.[37] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-PSU-36)
Mann received a personalized certificate from the IPCC for "contributing to the award of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007 to the IPCC".[38] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-37) Mann was one of several hundred scientists who contributed to the IPCC Third Assessment Report (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/IPCC_Third_Assessment_Report) and received similar certificates for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/2007_Nobel_Peace_Prize) that was awarded jointly to the IPCC and to Al Gore (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Al_Gore).[39] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-38)[40] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-39) Mann recalls that at an IPCC meeting in 2009 celebrating the Nobel Peace Prize, the personal sacrifice that he and Benjamin D. Santer (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Benjamin_D._Santer) had made in the name of the IPCC was highlighted by Working Group 1 co-chair Susan Solomon (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Susan_Solomon).[41] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-40)
In 2012, he was elected a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/American_Geophysical_Union)[2] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-AGU_Fellow-1) and awarded the Hans Oeschger Medal (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Hans_Oeschger_Medal) of the European Geosciences Union (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/European_Geosciences_Union).[37] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-PSU-36) He has been listed by the American Meteorological Society (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/American_Meteorological_Society) to become a new Fellow of the society in 2013.[42 (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-www.ametsoc.org-41)

Once you look at Mann's track record you realise that working in other fields he would now be languishing in gaol as a scammer . What is annoying is that he has probably made a great deal of money from his work with methodology so flawed that it had to be deliberate falsification of facts .

The Office of the Inspector General (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Office_of_the_Inspector_General) (OIG) of the National Science Foundation (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/National_Science_Foundation) carried out a detailed investigation, which it closed on 15 August 2011. It agreed with the conclusions of the university inquiries, and exonerated Mann of charges of scientific misconduct.[34] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-33)[35] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-bloomberg_110822-34)[36] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-IoP_110830-35)

Wow, you do follow your boss. Take the 53% that pay the taxes and dump on them. Good plan, nitwit. At least Barack Obama wants to dump on them a bit slower. It's the Democrat Frog in the Boiling Water plan.

When I lived in Colorado a massive forest fire destroyed home. A University of Colorado--read far-left--professor whose home was gone was asked if he had fire insurance. He turn his nose up, like Barack Obama, and announced he didn't believe in insurance. Next up was the governor announcing that we'd all need to chip and and bail these poor people out. Why? It would be a horrible slap in the face to take someone who doesn't believe in insurance and pay his bills.

Shortly before there was the global warming hysteria we had the new Ice Age hysteria. But, they couldn't fit a new Ice Age into a socialist agenda so it was brushed aside in favor of global warming. You know, oceans rising 200" and all that nonsense. And the solution is, amazing, much, much higher taxes and much, much greater income redistribution. Imagine that.

The Warming Hysterics have lied from the start and will continue doing so. The same media folks that assured us Barack Obama is a genius support them for the same reasons.
