The self-proclaimed “Nazi dad” of New Jersey is officially a “Nazi Führer.”
Heath Campbell reportedly applied to change his last name to Hitler and a Hunterdon County judge approved it on Friday.

The name change takes effect on May 8, according to records signed by Judge Michael O’Neill. The document lists Campbell's first name as Isidore.

The fake Führer found notoriety in 2008 after a grocery store refused to write “Happy birthday, Adolf Hitler,” on a cake for his son, who was named for the loathed Third Reich dictator.

Campbell made headlines again in 2013 after losing custody of his children.


The father of four wore authentic Nazi regalia — including a Swastika armband — to family court.
He was unemployed at the time of the custody fight.


His other children also shared names linked to white supremacy, including JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Eva Lynn Patricia Braun.


Last year, Campbell was featured in the documentary “Meet the Hitlers.”

Not sure I care enough to go Internet surfing to verify one way or another, but seeing that it is the Daily News, that slight effort is probably not necessary. Also, mycentraljersey.com (as part of the USA Today network) has done little to inspire my confidence with their thoughtful reporting.

But then again, it is New Jersey, so....

You're right that a guy like that could be trouble if he's provoked, but I'd still pretend I didn't see or hear him if I passed him on the street. I couldn't help myself.

Why? rights are rights, no matter how revolting the request. So if you allow an aspiring movie start to change their name to "Rock" you have to allow this. In fact as loath inspiring as this guy is , if the straight bakers have to bake a cake for a gay wedding ( which I disagree with) then the grocery store should of been forced to make this cake. That's what's supposed to seperate us, we show no partiality for current public opinion. Rights are rights and presedents are presedents.

ohio law grants judges discretion to deny use of scandalous (my term) or abhorrent (my term again as I don't recall the statutory language) names. That will only be reversed if exercised in an arbitrary or capricious manner.
