After Health Care Defeat, Trump’s Two Options are Bad and Worse

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/first-read/after-health-care-defeat-trump-s-two-options-are-bad-n738861

The biggest defeat of Donald Trump's early presidency — the health-care reform effort getting pulled from the House floor on Friday — revealed a lack of a mandate and a lack of numbers.

The lack of a mandate: Despite winning in November, President Trump lost the popular vote; his current job-approval rating sits between the high 30s and low 40s; and the health-care bill he championed wasn't popular at all (https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2443).

Unifying Republicans on tax reform and keeping the government funded is easier said than done

Wooing Democrats might even be a harder task

Top Democrat on Senate Intelligence Committee: "There's a lot more smoke" on Russia

Trump has visited a Trump property on nearly one-third of his days as president

What were other presidents doing on March 27?

Yep, the markets know that the chances at tax reform now stand somewhere between slim and none.

Yes, it lost a little, but, it's over 20,000 for the first time, ever.

It went to 20,000, then over, after Trump took over.

I find it odd, no one cared about it, then..... it's only noteworthy when, it slides a little.

Hey, the news here, should be, it's over 20,000, people who have 401k's are making a killing...... that's a GOOD thing!

Yes, the market does that, always has. I would think, the focus here, should be, yay! The market is over 20,000, for the first time, ever!

It doesn't matter, how you have to always make sure Trump is painted in the worst possible light.....and, yes, you do have plenty of ammunition......but, this isn't all that earth shattering.

I don't suppose, anyone took note, in 2008, when the market took a nosedive, causing people with 401's, to lose, made, half? When Trump took over, the market went up and, despite a bobble hear and there, continues to rise.

I would pay dearly to be a fly on the wall the first time Trump calls Gorsuch to try to tell him how to vote on a case before the high court, and Gorsuch tells Cheeto Jesus, in so many judicious words, to piss off.

Then he wouldn't have to organize a coup, would he?

As for the popular vote, I'm not at all surprised that Hillary was popular with dead people. When she speaks she's almost like one of them.

Reality.....has always been a problem for him, huh?

CHUCK TODD: Alright, Hugh. I'm gonna start with you because this is what the Washington Examiner headline is: GOP Cave on Obamacare Repeal is the Biggest Broken Promise in Political History (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/gop-cave-on-obamacare-repeal-is-the-biggest-broken-promise-in-political-history/article/2618413), was the top of, I believe, Phil Klein's, analysis. Is he right?

HUGH HEWITT: No, it's overstated. We had a very good week with Neil Gorsuch, he's going to change the balance of the Supreme Court for 30 years and so President Trump has a huge win to put on the table this week. It was a big loss, but I agree with the autopsy that Director Mulvaney just put out there - that loss isn't on the president, it isn't on Paul Ryan, it is on the Area 51 sub-caucus of the Freedom Caucus which believes in legislative flying saucers that ignore the Senate, and the Senate rules, and the reconciliation rules. They own the loss, nobody else......snip~

Ah, Wolf can now predict the future but he's confused the current President with our recently departed King.

I will admit that I was surprised the formerly mature poster, Wolf, would use childish slurs like Cheeto Jesus or, what would it have been six months ago, Shit King?

That's my take on it. Let it collapse, then, when people are without insurance of any kind, they'll look at Trump's proposal a little differently.

SOME kind of insurance, is better than none.
