This sort of thing is common. It's ridiculously easy to file for a presidential run, everyone on this forum could do it. Last year, almost 2,000 people filed to run.

Democrats are going to be salivating over 2020. I have no doubt that a Democrat should win so long as they pick a proper candidate this time 'round and that candidate goes back to how the Democrats used to campaign. If they try to fly another Clinton up the flag pole, they're fucking themselves over. That's the only way I see them losing in 2020, unless Trump does something miraculous or has a major makeover at some point. Well, or he could start a war - that usually guarantees a second term if you look at history.

Unless they change from the model Obama created for democrats, they can't win the electoral college.
