Qatar Buys U.S. F-15s Days After Trump Says Country Funds Terror

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/qatar-buys-12b-u-s-jets-days-after-trump-says-n772691

Qatar said Wednesday it has signed a $12 billion deal to buy F-15 fighter jets from the United States — just days after President Donald Trump accused the country (http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/trump-calls-qatar-cease-funding-terror-n770476) of being a "high-level" sponsor of terrorism.

The announcement came after the country's defense minister met with Defense Secretary Jim Mattis in Washington.

News of the sale comes amid a diplomatic crisis. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates cut diplomatic and transport ties (http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/u-s-ambassador-qatar-steps-down-n771551) with Qatar last week and accused it of supporting terrorism and regional unrest (http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/qatar-hires-former-u-s-attorney-general-ashcroft-evaluate-counterterrorism-n770711).

According to Trump, Qatar has a "high-level funding" of terrorism. It's just like him to arm them up. Demagogues need enemies.

We know Saudi Arabia is a State Sponsor of terrorism but Obama sold billions worth of arms to them.

Now Qatar is suddenly a problem?

Please...

Ya never know!

No. In fact, I would love to see you try to post a quote from the President in which he accuses Iraq of being involved in the planning and/or execution of the attacks on this nation on 09/11/2001.

You should make it a project and devote all your time to it until you accomplish your mission.

You might know that... I don't... And Bush never said that...

Nice deflection BTW.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump called on Qatar (http://edition.cnn.com/2017/06/07/middleeast/qatar-crisis-analysis/index.html) to stop funding terrorism, claiming credit for and endorsing the decision of Gulf nations to ostracize their neighbor, even as US Cabinet officials said their blockade is hurting the campaign against ISIS.

"We had a decision to make," Trump said, describing conversations with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries. "Do we take the easy road or do we finally take a hard but necessary action? We have to stop the funding of terrorism.

President Trump in Saudi Arabia on Saturday signed a nearly $110 billion arms deal to help the Persian Gulf ally with its military-defense system.
"That was a tremendous day," Trump said after signing the deal with Saudi leader King Salman. "Tremendous investments in the United States. Hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs."

Qatar are definitely supporters of terrorism. And Trump is definitely an idiot. But Democrats have exhausted any semblance of credibility they may have had with their anti-Russian witch hunt, so when they stumble upon a valid criticism every couple of months, nobody really listens or cares because they just assume it's more bitter whining from mindless partisans.

The US has been the world's largest arms dealer since WWII. Obama did nothing different than every other president since. Am I happy about it? I'm indifferent.

There are literally dozens of reasons why it was done and has been done for decades. Some ok some not.

I suppose the only difference is the fact that Trump was condemning them as sponsors of terrorism in one breath and selling them weaponized aircraft in the next. He has a problem with consistency. He believes in using hyperbole to sell himself (see Art of the Deal), but with so many balls in the air, I think he's forgetting prior statements.

Yet SA is a known sponsor of terrorism and the entire Western world sells them arms. Is it ok as long as it's hush hush?

So Obama also sold them weapons and didn't condemn them when they sponsored terrorism? And all without a word of this from you....unless you can show me a post from Dr. Who back on the day being critical of Obama for such sales......

.......no.....?

Didn't think so. Gamesmanship will be called out....and it's getting called out here.
