Even now McCain hasn't resigned and allowed for a temporary replacement to fill in until the next election. He'll carry his hate to the grave. Kelly Ward is in the running for Jeff Flakes seat in 2018 and she has my vote. McCain's seat is up in 2022 but if someone is appointed temporarily fill in for him I think there could be a special election for a person to fill the position until the 2022 election. I haven't checked that out but I think that's how it works here.
