View Full Version : Is the New World Order Unraveling?

Why is the New World Order suddenly going in reverse?

A primary reason is the resurgence of nationalism. Nations are putting national interests ahead of any perceived global interests.

A second reason is the decline of a West whose project this was. We no longer dictate to the world, and the world no longer marches to our tune. The deficits and indebtedness of Western nations preclude more of the big wealth transfers in foreign aid that once bought us influence.

A third reason is demography. Not one European nation has a birth rate sufficient to replace its population. Europe's nations are aging, shrinking, dying. A depopulating Germany cannot carry forever the deficit-debtor nations of Club Med. The oldest nation, Japan, is on schedule to lose 25 million people by 2050, as is neighbor Russia.

Militarily, America remains the most powerful nation. But Iraq and Afghanistan have bled the country and left us without the certain attainment of our goals. Old allies like Turkey go their separate ways.

Ethno-nationalism also explains a disintegrating world order. Aspiring nations like Scotland, Catalonia, Padania, Flanders, Ingushetia, Dagestan, East Turkestan, Kurdistan and Baluchistan seek a place in the sun, free of the cloying embrace of the mother country.

The desire of peoples for nations all their own, where their own language, faith and culture predominate and their own kind rule to the exclusion of all others, is everywhere winning out over multiculturalism and transnationalism.

Through history there have been attempts to unite the world.

The Roman Empire. Catholicism. Islam. The West that ruled much of mankind from Columbus to the mid-20th century. Communism, which conquered half of Europe and Asia but arose and fell in a single century.

With the death of communism and the decline of the West—in relative population and power—Islam has become the largest religion, China the world's emerging superpower, and Asia the continent of the future.

Could this still be the Second American Century?

Not the way we are going.

There is definitely a new world order coming about but it's not going to be in our best interests as Americans.

I don't know that there will even be superpowers in the traditional sense. I'd guess China will be the closest we get to it, but they are still pretty backwards.

The post war order was never ultimately in our interests. I agree that China has a lot of hurdles in its future.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that our planet enters some sort of dark ages in a couple of hundred years, imo. If things keep progressing the way they have been, who knows?

I'd guess the collapse will be regional. The west will be in for a greater psychological shock but we have the means to stabilize our homelands.

Do you really think we will? I expect 50 years from now Mexico and the U.S. will be far more similar than they were 50 years ago. I think that's the way it will be all over the world really. The birth rates are the biggest factor IMO. Wave upon wave of uneducated and poor people are being generated at rates inconceivable several generations ago.

If things continue this way I agree. It's going to look more like Mexico because it will be Mexico in some areas. Demography is destiny. On the other hand, even if some western states contract in terms of geographic size it's probably for the best at least in the short term.

No doubt that kind of growth is unsustainable.

Not quite.....which is why he was attacked by all other Neo Cons over it. Now you are giving Jr to much credit.

Actually if you want to know why it is dead-locking over nationalism. Then all you need due is look to the European Continents. 17 countries are all about their own economic prosperity, and stability, also Sourthern European Countries like Greece and Portugal are not able to compete in markets with the French and Germans or Northern European Countries. Which leads to other countries not wanting to take on those failing markets and economies to bring them into a global economy.

Then you can look at the fact.....that in order to have a Global Economy. All would have to be involved. Such is hardly the case. Also with Southeast Asia you have some Identity crisis going on. Taiwan, Vietnam, Phillipines and even smaller Countries. All touting Nationalism and not being Under China and Communistic Control. All preaching their own Sovereignty. One can look at all the Continents and see why. Africa is the same. South America too.

Yeah, thousand points of light and NWO was Papa Bush.

The Thousand points of light was a recurring phrase in speeches given by George H. W. Bush. The term was coined by speechwriter Peggy Noonan. In his inaugural address on January 20, 1989, Bush said:

I have spoken of a thousand points of light, of all the community organizations that are spread like stars throughout the Nation, doing good. We will work hand in hand, encouraging, sometimes leading, sometimes being led, rewarding. We will work on this in the White House, in the Cabinet agencies. I will go to the people and the programs that are the brighter points of light, and I will ask every member of my government to become involved. The old ideas are new again because they are not old, they are timeless: duty, sacrifice, commitment, and a patriotism that finds its expression in taking part and pitching in.[1]

It wasn't quite ask not what your country can do for you... but still a good message and one we should take to heart. I still like Papa Bush.

Uhm.....I notice that he kept saying Nation. Not nations.

Peggy Noonan.....ugh. The Zsa Zsa Gabor of politics. I cant stand her. Plus they gave her a Column in the Wall Street Journal. over half the time she doesn't even know what she is talking about. She touts herself off as A US Historian? Speech Writer. Believeing she knows all the ins and outs of US politics. Based on her vast experience as a speech-writer. In which Reagan throw out almost all of her speeches in which she wrote for him. Wonder why they kept her round? Hey Peggy.....http://politirant.com/Smileys/oldrant/thumbsdown21.gif

Nah, the real Skull and Bones like Papa Bush. Not the Bone Thugz and Harmony Version either

Bone Thugs N Harmony - Crossroads (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMYAEHE2GrM#)

Skull and Bones is an undergraduate senior or secret society at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. It is a traditional peer society to Scroll and Key and Wolf's Head, as the three senior class 'landed societies' at Yale.

The society's alumni organization, which owns the society's real property and oversees the organization, is the Russell Trust Association, named for General William Huntington Russell,[1] who co-founded Skull and Bones with classmate Alphonso Taft. The Russell Trust was founded by Russell and Daniel Coit Gilman, member of Skull and Bones and later president of the University of California, first president of Johns Hopkins University, and the founding president of the Carnegie Institution.

The society is known informally as "Bones", and members are known as "Bonesmen".[2]
