This is just interesting in itself. And most of the graphics are interactive so you really should go to the source to explore. But I think it speaks to a cause for the so-called gender gap, namely, males and females choose different jobs/careers.

When I looked at the bubble thing, I noticed that men tend to do more of the dangerous, hard labor types of work. Maybe that is why they get paid more? Of course women doing those same jobs, by law, have to get paid the same wages.

There were 2 women in my welding class when I was in trade school at age 23, not every day you see a female welder.

I am also seeing more men in nursing. I like having male nurses around. For the most part, they don't get involved in the drama that wimmins have going so often. And they bring a different outlook to nursing.

From the US Department of Labor - 12 Stats About Working Women (https://blog.dol.gov/2017/03/01/12-stats-about-working-women) - I deal a lot with the trades and their unions. I've never seen a female HVAC/Sheet metal technician or carpenter but I have seen a lot of female electricians and a surprising amount of female brick/concrete workers. One thing I rarely run into are female project engineers or just engineers period. I've tried hiring them.

I'm seeing a lot more women heavy equipment operators/truck drivers in the last decade.
