I consider myself a Donald Trump supporter. Much of the opposition to the man strikes me as either reflexive or partisan (which often are the same thing; and this forum shows plenty of examples).
But the did leave himself open to fair criticism, in my opinion, when he called a press conference to announce that he would be doing something major soon, only to leave unspoken just exactly what that might be; and then to reply with an unhelpful "you'll see" when asked, directly, what he was referring to.
That is just a bit too coy for my tastes.
Perhaps it was something that genuinely could not be mentioned in public. In that case, however, it would have been much better to say nothing about the matter, until after it had transpired.
This way, it amounted to nothing more than a tease.
Was President Trump simply toying with the press (which he truly loathes)? Perhaps. But it should be borne in mind that over 300 million other Americans--Americans who are in no way attached to the press--were also made the objects of this tease.
This does not strike me as typical presidential behavior.
What do others think?
