The Florida Democrat who criticized President Donald Trump this week for being "insensitive" toward the widow of a U.S. soldier slain in Africa might be facing similar criticism herself.
It turns out that U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson has frequently voted against measures intended to help veterans and their families, according to VoteSmart.org (https://votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/17319/frederica-wilson/66/veterans#.WeglxOXyuUl), a vote-tracking site whose founding board members included former presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford.

The measures that Wilson opposed included a bill that could have ensured that families of four soldiers slain in Afghanistan in 2013 received death and burial benefits.

Despite Wilson's claim to be “committed to honoring our service members, not only with words but with deeds,” she has voted against most bills ensuring continued funding for veteran benefits, including payments to widows of fallen soldiers, the vote-tracking site shows.
She has also opposed measures designed to improve the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Not surprising, most democrat politicians are all about the show, not the go.

You can attack Wilson as much as you want, but what she said is verified by the soldier's mother:

Rep. Frederica Wilson, a Florida Democrat who was in the car with Johnson's family, said in an interview that Trump had told the widow that "you know that this could happen when you signed up for it ... but it still hurts." He also referred to Johnson as "your guy," Wilson said, which the congresswoman found insensitive.Cowanda Jones-Johnson, who raised the soldier from age 5 after his mother died, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the Democratic congresswoman's account was correct.
"Yes the statement is true," she said. "I was in the car and I heard the full conversation.

The point is, she votes against helping Vets, as her record clearly shows.

The OP is trying to discredit Wilson, so that it somehow shows that she was lying about what Trump said. That's the point, nothing more.

Verification and Agreement is 2 different things, there are others that heard the conversation and state just the opposite.

One was Marine General Kelly I do not believe any Marine would condone or lie for a Potus that denigrated a vet who gave their all or their family.

If it were to turn out to be true that Trump disrespected the family then I will not defend that in any shape or form

Oh gasp!!!! not the TRUTH ABOUT HER !!! Let her continue her "I really care about veterans" charade unchallenged....

If the TRUTH = "assassinating her character", it doesn't say much for her character, does it?

His point is "talk is cheap"; we see what she REALLY BELIEVES when she votes against helping vets. Why does the left always demand that no one know the TRUTH about them?

I am not assassinating anyone or anything, this woman wants to act all big and supportive yet votes against vets and the VA, it is on the public voting record. So basically when she votes she treats Soldiers and Veterans like crap..... But now she is the champion of supporting them....... Whatever.
As I said in another post on this subject, it is all about context. It is easy to take these words and think they are harsh, if you just read them and don't know the conversation that surrounds them.
"said in an interview that Trump had told the widow that "you know that this could happen when you signed up for it ... but it still hurts." He also referred to Johnson as "your guy,"
He is not being insensitive read what you posted let's see if you understand. You know this could happen, you never wanted it to but you know it can, it's what Soldiers sign up for, but it still hurts when it does....... sounds compassionate to me and it is the same thing the POTUS said . How many folded flags have you passed to a mother or wife? How many friends have you had carried under that flag? By the way as far as what he said and how he said it, no one knows exactly, no one unless you have a recording, why? It is human nature if there were 2 people in a conversation then there are 3 stories about what was said, each person will remember it differently, then the real words are in the middle, no one is lying but their memory is in the perception, Context is lost in perception.

What is wrong with calling him her guy?

President Trump's instincts are good. Trump does not have to focus-group test his messages.

The Trump agenda of economic growth through lower regulations, tax cuts and individual liberty is working despite the obstacles the Establishment Republicans and all Democrats have put in his way.
