View Full Version : Bad news for beer drinkers

Dr. Who

Boys, if you’re a big fan of beer, we’ve got bad news for you.

The hops used in your favorite drink could be giving you man boobs.

That’s because hops contain a high amount of phytoestrogen — a plant-derived chemical that is similar to the female sex hormone estrogen.

Got your attention yet?

Several studies have shown that these tasty little hops can have an estrogenic effect on a man’s body.

To put it another way, it boosts the levels of female sex hormones in your body.

The plants are commonly used as an herbal remedy for menopause (https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/3370207/menopause-signs-symptoms-treatments-when/) for the same reason.

It is thought to help reduce hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness and other symptoms that come with menopause. It’s like an herbal hormone replacement therapy (https://www.thesun.co.uk/living/2880840/bbc-presenter-kirsty-wark-endured-a-hard-menopause-after-ditching-hrt-over-cancer-fears/).

But in men, increased levels of estrogen can result in man boobs.

Are you an authority on beer? Most major brands like Miller, Budweiser, Coors and such are swill. They aren't worthy of being called beer.

Actually, there are beers made without hops but they use substitutes like juniper berries (the flavoring in gin) Spruce tips is another and certain other flowers to flavor the beer. All are called something different from "beer" as we know it. True beer however is made with hops. Anything else is something to be drunk by guys with man buns and women who wear "wife beater" tea shirts.

Staying thin helps. Breast tissue in women is mostly comprised of fat. If you gain weight, you don't want it depositing in the breast area if you are a guy. That's what the hormones do.

Then it's not beer
There are four basic ingredients to beer, but only three are essential: malted barley, yeast and water. However, beer made with only these three will be sickly-sweet and dull. Throughout brewing history, brewers have added something extra—usually a plant part of some sort—to give their beer balance and depth. Generally Hops make up the 4th ingredient however there are others.
Samuel Adams Double Bock is the biggest none hop beer that I know of, there are many craft beers and local brews that do not. A small sample http://beeradvocate.com/beer/style/8

Perhaps there will be a market for the "manzier".

Woo Hoo, a beer bra! Most men need a one cup for the basketball belly.

Then it's not beer

I still get hopped up on HOPIUM!
I gave up beer as a young man, when I grew bitch tits!
I switched to Coors Beer, as its made with rice,
but eventually found solace in the hard stuff-teqilla and vodka!
I quit booze about 10 years ago, after my first heart attack, pot and coke too.
I never regretted that!

Or liver, if you stay a lush, too long!

I tease a friend my age, he has to drain the main after every, 12 ounce beer. I dub thee, thimble bladder!
I may have over-indulged in alcohol for too long.
I have been diagnosed with a fatty liver, among many other things.Even tho I haven't drank in years.
But these Dr.s and P.A.s pull some of the wierdest crap for diagnoses;

Said I was pre-diabetic one time-WRONG!
Said I had emphesema =WRONG!
Said I had Chlamydia-WRONG!
A cardio said I needed open heart surgery-WRONG!

Foe them si say these things without tests to back them up is malpractice in my mind!
And many meds prescribed for me I found out could kill me or were harmfull!

Be that as it may, does physical activity offset the estrogen, element?
Definitly! I used to be a gym rat and pumped iron for years. That's why lifters take roids, to get even more testesterone. It builds muscle and breaks down fat!

There's the stuff brewed by Siamese mute monks on a remote island made from the urine of virgin girls and arrowroot.

So the mute Monks aren't talking, eh? They best not, or they could be brought up on charges!

I was never a heavy duty beer drinker, I had an occaisional beer now and then. There was a short period in my life where a bottle of scotch was my release. I got into the stop for one after work to having alot more. Mine was stress driven and instead of handling it like a man I started hitting the bar. Anyway my wife straightened me right out. She said STOP or you will come home one night and I will be gone and I will NOT come back, that was enough for me to stop.

Good for you. It took a lot more for me to stop but I did. In your case giving up booze saved money while ex-wives do not do that! Neither do new wives. LOL. If you switch from beer because you are needing to drink so much beer to get drunk that you're pissing all the time: Well that's what we call tolerance and in this case tolerance ain't a good thing
