So over at VG Chartz, they want me to join in an annual ritual of people posting their top 50 favorite video games of all time at a pace of one a day (counting backward) from November 12th through December 31st. Since there appears to be zero overlap (myself notwithstanding) between the membership here and there, I've decided to give the PF community the honor of previewing it my just-completed list, as I feel like showing someone.

(I've listed my favorite version of each game because they want us to list a platform for each game for platform tallying purposes.)

FF6 an SJW game? Because Terra was kinda sorta the lead character?

I'm being somewhat sarcastic in the thread title. EVERYTHING that someone disagrees with in gaming is an agenda-pushing "SJW" something or other these days. For example, many people there will doubtless see the fact that I failed to include Super Mario Odyssey or Grand Theft Auto V as a reflection of a political agenda and not personal honesty on my part. They'll be dead wrong too. Don't cry anyone: a hat-themed, free-roaming(ish) platforming game released this year did make my list at #50!

Sometimes (okay often) there is indeed overlap between my political views and the themes of video games that I find I like. Sometimes there isn't (like in Okami or Ori and the Blind Forest). It all just depends on how well a game presents what it has to say. Or if it's just plain crazy fun to me (like Crypt of the NecroDancer or A Hat in Time).

I've also just come to enjoy mocking cliches; especially rightspeak.

I remember playing Quest for the Avatar. I'd get the paladin and basically answer the questions from the other PC's so they didn't join me and just played it with the one character.

Requiem anertia!
