The jury has begun deliberations in the bribery trial of Senator Bob Melendez (D) New Jersey; depending on which side you are on, it's felt by those supporting Melendez that he will get off; others feel he'll be convicted and have to leave the Senate.

I feel if he is convicted, then he should be made an example of since he's violated the public trust; I know that sounds rather harsh, when you serve in a position like that you need to be held to a higher standard. Just my thoughts on it.

I think that would be the most prudent thing to do. I have little tolerance for corrupt politicians regardless of political party, especially when it involves corruption.
