Democrat David Alcon, who is running for an open congressional seat in New Mexico, was arrested Friday on a felony stalking charge.
Police arrested Alcon at an Albuquerque apartment complex two weeks after a warrant for his arrest was issued out of Santa Fe, reports KRQE News. (http://krqe.com/2017/11/12/new-mexico-congressional-candidate-arrested-on-stalking-charge/)
Police said that a woman began receiving creepy (http://krqe.com/2017/10/31/man-running-for-congress-faces-second-stalking-charge/) and frightening text messages from Alcon after attending a Halloween party this past October in Santa Fe. The woman told police that Alcon told her he loved her and wanted to have children with her and sent her a photo of his genitals.
The woman told police she met Alcon ten years ago and has received text messages from him before. She called police again later and said Alcon was outside of her apartment.
Alcon was also convicted of stalking his ex-girlfriend back in 2007. The judge in that case said the congressional candidate was “clearly obsessed” with his ex.
On the morning before the 2007 trial started, Alcon sprinkled rose petals on his ex-girlfriend’s porch.
“It was just unbelievable to me, David,” state District Judge Michael Vigil said before Alcon’s sentencing. “That is creepy. That is scary for a person. You would not go away. Violence takes a lot of different forms. [What you did] was a form of violence to the victim.”

Exactly, we have people that can't get jobs because of a drug bust but yet politicians with dangerous legal histories can still run for office.

Exactly, we have people that can't get jobs because of a drug bust but yet politicians with dangerous legal histories can still run for office.

And many of the wealth-creating industries like entertainment and professional sports is more than happy to ignore a few assault/abuse charges. Meh... just beat his wife around a little, so let's reward him with a $15 million contract.

Fucking stupid.

This story is not very surprising. Hopefully this will impact his run negatively.

I suppose electing him is one way to get him out of your county
