Not surprising considering this president's historic unpopularity.

We'll make the holiday table a safe zone for you Nic. Could talk about the history of Thanksgiving, even the relationships between European Colonials and native Americans. Talk about the native Indian slave policies and warring on neighboring tribes, you know, little history.

Reading French and Indian War book now about Indian atrocities after troops had surrendered, even civilians in forts and on frontiers scalped or even worse...but...not really table talk given we are all slaying the holiday bird. Actually, I'm making brisket this year as a new wrinkle. See how it goes. Anyone got some great recipes/instrucs?

You know that's been around for four years, right?

Are you also aware that despite Trump and Congress halving the signup period and obliterating funding, Obamacare's more popular than ever.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-11-15/obamacare-sign-ups-stay-strong-with-47-increase-in-week-2

Americans signed up for Obamacare at a brisk pace for a second straight week, an early sign that Republican efforts to repeal or undermine the law earlier this year may have backfired.

Americans enrolled in almost 1.5 million Affordable Care Act health plans on healthcare.gov in the first 11 days of the open enrollment period, a 47 percent increase over a similar period last year.

The numbers came out just as Republican lawmakers made a last-minute addition to their tax bill that would eliminate the law’s requirement that all Americans have coverage or pay a fine -- a policy known as the individual mandate.

It’s hard to gauge what the acceleration means for the Obamacare marketplaces overall, because consumers have only half the time to enroll in plans on healthcare.gov this year. Even a stronger-than-expected start could end with fewer people signing up by the time the window closes Dec. 15.

It remains true that Obamacare cannot work without annual tax payer bailouts.

Doctors and insurance companies both receiving payments from the US government, payments increasing our debt, something that Obama repeatedly told us wouldn't happen. Representative Joe Wilson was correct, Obama was a liar about Obamacare.

The characterizations of our male youth? Yes, I did know those had been around for years. I watch less tv these days, sports really all I watch. I do watch in the morning or if a big news event is occurring such as the Las Vegas shooting or the Presidential election. I do watch CNN in the morning sometimes, MSNBC as well. But I did know that these male characterizations have been around for years and I find them right disturbing. My current favorite is the poor child whose insurance company is going to save him from a flat tire. On his cell phone speaking to his Dad I think, but Mutual or nationwide or someone is going to 'save him' from his flat tire and then the commercial ends with the boy standing there looking all humbled and his Mom explaining how it's done today. Call someone.

The little pajama boy living in his parents house sipping hot cocoa trying to determine how he'll remain in his Mom's basement for 3 more years while Dad pays his health insurance is typical and has been around for awhile, I must agree with you there. The softening of the American Male I think has been going on for decades. I think the Commercial should have included Dad showing up, dragging the little Tulip back to the site of the flat and saying yes....that's the tire iron. Now...learn to change the tire, boy........or I'll use the iron on your thick assed head.

Obliterating funding? Where do you see funds being obliterated? Back up nonsense, don't just spew it. No one believes you, Zero, you'll have to do more than type. Pretend I'm from Missouri and show me obliterated funding.

I'm aware of that but at a tiny fraction that colonists took it. But in most cases it was simply retaliation.

Did Donald Trump Cut Funding for Obamacare Enrollment Advertising?

Facebook warnings accurately describe a 90 percent budget cut for publicizing the shortened 2018 enrollment period for Obamacare.

The Trump administration has indeed cut the budget for publicizing 2018 Obamacare open enrollment by more than 90 percent, and did indeed cut the open enrollment period in half – from three months in 2017 to six weeks in 2018. Spending on in-person enrollment assistance (the Navigator system) is also set to be cut by 41 percent from 2016 levels.

You're aware that warfare in pre-Columbian America was in some ways uniquely cruel? That's good but I didn't have the native practice of scalping in mind. I was actually thinking of ritual torture and cannibalism. You make a good point though. The ritual mutilation of the dead and the scalping of live victims is some pretty hideous shit. No doubt it made a negative impression on the colonists.

He's cut advertising...not program funding....so say that rather than pretend we aren't still funneling monies into the failed Obamacare fiasco.....the payments to insurance companies and doctors enabling it to barely survive and adding to our national debt...continues. You're trying to make the point that Trump or Republicans are trying to sabotage Obamacare, we're trying to repeal it. You own this albatross and it's helped the GOP to House and Senate majorities.
