All other things aside, it was an injection of partisan politics in the middle of a ceremony that had nothing to do with current domestic politics. Minimally, that's tacky and self-serving, distracting from the debt owed to these brave men to castigate someone in the opposition on a highly remotely tangential issue.

It was a gaffe, but I think it was also a jab at Warren given her ties to the CFPB and his victory regarding the appointment of Mulvaney. And another observation; she's making noises about running in 2020 so he's preemptively assigning her a nickname that directly associates her with her false claim of Native American heritage and *gasp* her plagiarism in 1984 of recipes from a French chef to contribute to a Native American cookbook titled, "Pow Wow Chow." So, I think I get what Trump was doing, but just wish he had used another venue.
