But what would happen over time? Would some states shift? Would the Rep US have a freer market and prosper and the Dem US have a socialist economy and fail? Would we go to war?

:D

this central government has failed. It has become so vast and over-shadowing in our lives, that we can no longer tell the difference between federal power and local authority. The war of 1865 result was, as we were told, that it offered protection for states abuses. I call bullsh!t. It became the central tyranny the Founding Fathers warned us about.
It has become the tyranny example of Europe. We are considered to be the chattel for debt and labor as the federal government leads the charge with the many states following its lead.
Democracy? That's a frickin' joke. It is a false sense of participation.

Agree. Time to break it up.

I could dig it, life without liberal policies being crammed on us. Imagine, blue states alone, laboring under O-care!

It would default to the old anti-bellum South, and the Yankee north, and Texas would sucede and become its own country, or be absorbed by Mexico!(sorry, Chris)

What in the H does bellum mean?

It's not anti-bellum, but antebellum. Definition:occurring or existing before a particular war, especially the American Civil War.

Unless you are anti-bellum, i.e., anti-war.

It would be a far more democratic and rational political situation, which is why it will be opposed vigorously by the ruling class and their puppets.

I was surprised by the relative equality in terms of GDP per state as I would have expected the blue states to far outperform the red ones, at least more than they do in this presentation. Of course the red states would be sucking on the Texas teet with this scenario. Wonder how long Texas would put up with that?

That was surprising, in most cases the demographics were close enough for horseshoes. The Dem states were ahead on wealth, but as the Dems more and more regulated their economy and businesses, they'd be driven to poverty. The Rep states would need more wealthy state or TX would secede.

Wouldn't a better solution be that we eliminate the two party system since right now it is an excuse to not do their jobs?

It would be dumb. A bunch of Balkanized states wouldn't last ten years.
