George W. Bush: Immigration Reform Needed To Boost Economy

Former President George W. Bush stressed the importance of immigration on Tuesday at a speech in Dallas, throwing himself back in the ring as the debate over reform heats up in Washington.

"Immigrants come with new skills and new ideas.
They fill a critical part in our labor market.
They work hard for a better life," Bush said at the event, hosted by the George W. Bush Institute and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

His brief speech introduced the groups' conference, which focused on the need for immigration reform to bolster economic growth.

"Not only do immigrants help build our economy, they help invigorate our soul," he said later in the speech.

Bush may be only refering to immigrants to the Cayman Islands, like himself, and other Venture Capitalist European Caucasians.

How could we possibly forget with President Obama and his minions reminding us daily that everything is President Bush's fault. No, not much chance of forgetting him as long as the fictional President is in the White House.

Any distraction to avoid discussing the lousy job Obama is doing.

I've been online since the mid 90s arguing politics and I just don't remember a time where the Party behind the sitting President ever so completely avoided talking about him, promoting him, defending him.

I guess that's kind of true. There are not many big things that Obama has done that people can really rally behind and say, "That's our guy!" Had not really thought about it, but good point.

It always led to great discussion criticizing Bush because Republicans defended him.

He's much smarter than you and far more successful than you even had the potential to be.

Cigar stepped in it again. Answer him, Cigar. Why do you and President Obama obsess on the irrelevant President Bush? I can see the history books now talking about President Carter the First and President Carter the Second.
